We have found the serial# on the tung of the trailer as so many of you have advised to look. The number is 8293.The metal plaque next to the front door says it was mfg in Columbia, South Carolina. It has the green horizontal stripes on the sides, large round tail lights, one on each side of the trailer and 5 small round marker lights in the rear. We would appreciate any help. Thx

Do you have a picture of your trailer? The serial number on most Shasta trailers contain a letter at the beginning to designate the plant the trailer was built. I found out that the Columbia, South Carolina plant began building around late 1966 or so.

I agree, need a picture.... I do not know how the serial numbers work, i would assume they are sequential??? Ours was made about 2000 numbers before yours and its a 1970 Compact, if that helps at all....

serial numbers have a prefix for where they were made..
Mine was made in PA and has a serial number of P 19963 and it is a 1971 My 68 was made at the same PA location ad the serial number was P 12317
