Hi, I'm a little confused about rim and tire size. this is for my SOB, as my Shasta is currently in transformation:) Just got a '68 ACE double axle that has mix matched rims and tires. It currently has 205 65R 15 tires and I already know I want to go with 205 75 15 Maxxis ST tires...so I also want new rims. But when I measured the rims they appear to be 16" to 16 1/4(I'm terrible at measuring) Is my rim actually 15 or 16 seeing how it has 15" tires on it currently? i'm totally confused. I assumed I would order new Dexstar 15" rims or is that wrong since they're measure edge to edge more like 16"? Also in future want to do the baby moons. Any opinions on E-trailer vs. VTS. E-trailer has free shipping? Just don't want to order the wrong thing. oh, and they are 6 lug by 5 1/2.thanks

the rims are 15 inches, they are measured from inside the 1/2 inch lip that the tire "seats" to. so a 15 inch wheel will measure around 16
basically the wheel and tire must overlap 1/2 inch to connect them.
I would order the wheel and baby moons from the same people to make sure they fit.
make sure and measure the lug nut holes correctly as well
a 6 lug wheel is measured from center of hole to center of hole, while a 5 lug is measured from center of one hole to the outer edge of the other.

thanks so much! I'll remeasure the lug nut holes again to be sure and then order the 15 rims w/ free shipping, but I have to get the tires from another site. YaaY! , maybe we'll get to take her out soon:) I've been staring at the Shasta in pieces for a long time now and waiting patiently to camp:)
