OMG adorable !!!!! Thanks for sharing ! Thanks Krista, had people asking me for a while of interior pictures. Figured the best time for the "big" reveal was when it was staged.

You have done a wonderful job, and the coordination with the outfit is delightful. Do you have a shirt and tie to match? Thanks! Its no hamlet but it works for us.... Jess came up with her outfit on her own. Originally i wasn't going to wear anything special but got into the mood week of and we went looking for a Charlie Sheen/ Bowling shirt. Ended up with a "guayabera" style shirt in all black that fit the bill. I like the shirt and tie idea though.... Hard to see the detail but its got detail thread work, 4 pockets etc etc

Boy, it all really looks great! I even like the high quality camera (Argus C-3?, one of the better cams of the day) on counter next to stove! LOL Awesome!! Thanks Soup... or is that Dr. Soup now? You are correct on the camera. I know its an Argus and believe its the C-3. Its not mine, my wife picked it up. It's functional and she likes to use it on our trips.

This is the first time I've seen this thread, being a newbie. You did a great job on your Shasta!!! Enjoyed the pics, Thanks. Thanks! since nothing really changed on the trailer for a while I had not been posting much on this thread so it drops off the new topics page for weeks at a time. We love to take it out. Wish it were older, bigger and looked like one of the super nice ones on here but its what we have so we try to make it as awesome as possible!

Of course it's no Hamlet, nor should it be! You have turned it into exactly what each of us wants with our trailers, something that works for us and reflects who we are. It's impossible to look at the pictures and not smile, and it doesn't get better than that. It is WONDERFUL!!!

I always compare ours to the older ones or the ones who have better craftsmanship. Always wish ours was better. Never feel like it measures up. It does work great for us though. We really do enjoy it and its allowed us to meet some really neat people.

So this past weekend we went camping at Cloudland Canyon State Park in North West GA. Ended up being the only folks there from this forum (that I am aware of anyway). Weather was amazing, all the views were amazing, campground was very nice (I believe it was fully booked). We arrived Thursday just as the sun set with enough light to find a nice site and get parked. Friday we hiked around the canyon, down to the waterfalls (1 million steps). Saturday we took a 1/2 day trip into Chattanooga, had lunch, drove around downtown, took a short train ride and got to see some neat-o trains in a repair shop, found a HUGE antique shop (one of those booth set up deals where its unmanned but run by the shop) in a massive old warehouse. The ONLY perk of not camping with friends is that our trailer becomes the oldest trailer at the campground (most the time) and for that reason gets more attention. So here are a bunch of photos from our long weekend trip. On the drive up saw a few trees that stood out Arriving Parked as the sun set And after the sun came up the next day Our dogs basking in their camping glory My wife picked up an old portable record player for us to use while camping. We have a '63 Motorola Console Player at home but obviously too large to take with us. A nice feature at this campground (which I have never seen before) is a place to dump grey water. They always have the dump station but its never convenient. Almost all campgrounds ask/tell you not to dump your grey water on the ground. There were a couple of these in the camping loops. Nice feature. I also love that most state parks still have these old signs at the dump station. Back from when a car would have pulled that giant rig. We went hiking Friday mid morning. You can get to a couple of trails starting at the same point (day visitor parking lot). We wanted to hike down to the waterfalls. Its 600+ stairs i think in each direction so don't do this trail if you cannot do stairs. Here are some shots from the top of the canyon near the trail head taken over the weekend at different times of day Of course Ron went And here are some shots of the trails/waterfalls Of course the pups were in on the action too This was the upper waterfall This was the lower waterfall And after that hike the pups were pooped. Next day we went to Chattanooga for a little half day trip. Ate a delicious lunch at a place called Taco Mamacitas. They only have 3 locations (2 in TN, 1 in SC). We like to eat places we cannot get at home when we are out. Drove around the town a little and took a short train ride/tour of a working train repair shop. Crossing the Tennessee river in Chattanooga A different bridge that crosses the same river a couple blocks over (in the previous photo) The shopping center where we had lunch is OLD but being revitalized. The old sign was still there. Love it. Hope it stays. After lunch we went to the Tennessee Valley Railroad ( www.tvrail.com) They had multiple tracks of trains on display. The train ride we took was only about 15 minutes out, then you got to watch the engine get turned around on a turn table from 1916, and tour the working train repair shop with other old relics sitting around rusting too. There were tons of kids on the train (because its a nice family activity) but interesting enough that most adults will at least be entertained for the short time you are there. They have various length train rides, some museum cars on display, a depot to check out, a cafe (which looked good but we did not eat there) and of course a gift shop. This was one of the trains on display. The train used for our ride was electric diesel, not steam. Train schedule for that day posted at the depot. This was the engine pulling the train we rode. This was one of the old trains at the shop from 1949. And perhaps what was (IMHO) the best train there was this old Incline Railway Car (for those of you not familiar with this attraction, there is what is known as the "Incline Railway" at Lookout Mountain in Tennessee ( ridetheincline.com/). You can ride it up/down the mountain. The track at its steepest is about 72 degrees. Its marketed as one of the steepest in the world. I rode it years ago and remember it being pretty neat. The top of the tracks is at the top of lookout mountain and the view is nice. This car is obviously very old and retired but i thought all the moss/age gave it even more interest. I'm really not sure i was supposed to be where i was to take this photo (but nobody stopped me and i REALLY wanted to get closer to it) Had to scurry through part of their scrap yard dodging all sorts of rusty metal and trip hazards. When I got back with only about a minute to spare before the train left again my wife called me "Snoopy" because i go snooping around too much. These two were running around the train yard taking all kinds of photos. I thought this one (from this angle) was pretty funny.....

I had it posted on here a while back but after a couple of days got no replies and low read count so i just deleted the post.

Looks like a fun time. Did you get any geocaching in while you were there? Nope. Not this time. We have been known to do it in the past but time always flies. I have been doing it on and off for about 9 years now. Skip months at a time. I like to find them using Google maps. I will research and use aerial views the try to find them based on landmarks. Prefer the wooded ones over simple ones (lamp post bases etc). Ill make any excuse possible to just make my own trails and bushwhack

Love the pictures. You guys have done a great job coordinating the interior. Mrs Offspringing is just too cute in her outfit and looking so proud of the camper, as she should be.

thanks for sharing your awesome pics offspringin. sorry we could't make it up there...our pup never would have been able to do all the trekking like we would have wanted so we would have been stuck at our site. getting old sucks, even for dogs!

I'm so excited. This weekend i finally got my hands on the porch light i have been looking for since i bought this trailer. The downside is i have to remove a bench and interior panel to install it. As well as cut a hole in the skin. BUT if i decide to do that boy im golden. My parents old 72 trailer had one of these. So when i got the compact i shopped around for one. Maybe im dumb and didn't look in the right places but i have not found any in the time i have been looking. My buddy is scrapping his early 70s trailer and i told him i wanted the light. Went over to his place yesterday and picked up my light, this little old door wheel and a few other things (pictures to follow his post) On a side note if anybody has the metal cap that fits this outlet when the lamp is not in i would be interested. Been a while since i updated. Nothing new going on with the trailer other than a couple more trips under its belt since the last photo update. New Years weekend we went camping at Florence Marina State Park and visited some surrounding sights. First and foremost being Providence Canyon (Little Grand Canyon). There is no campground at that part but Florence Marina is just a bit down the road. Went into Alabama to Chewacla State Park and drove around downtown Auburn. Found the stadium and took photos in our Georgia shirts. Bought fireworks and shot those off on the side of the road just over the GA/AL state line (illegal in GA, not in AL) Photos here smg.photobucket.com/user/offspringin/library/Providence%20Canyon%20State%20Park%2012-2012%20and%201-13Password: 1970ShastaCompact

In March we took a 9 day trip from Atlanta down to George L Smith State Park in mid GA. Beautiful park, kayaked through groves of bald cypress trees. Went through Savannah, and Tybee Island (for lunch at the Crab Shack) the over to Hunting Island State Park in SC. Amazing park, only public lighthouse is located at this park (you can climb it for 2 bucks, do it). From there to Edisto Beach State Park, also amazing. Hit up Botany Bay Beach, Charleston, USS Yorktown, Fort Sumter. Kayaked 9 miles though the tidal marsh to Morris Island Lighthouse/Island. Awesome. Dogs are allowed on the beaches we were at (maybe statewide, dunno) so they got to see the ocean and run from the waves and sniff things I'm sure they never smelled before.
