Kristi has done a great job of organizing activities with the Airstream group, now WE need to get it together for our VSTF members dinner on Saturday night! We have no 'leader' for this event so everybody needs to get involved and speak up if you plan to participate. Harrison429, offspringin, flyingham, Clayton and katstar (me) are camping in the 87-92 Loop. Here is the general plan we have come up with together: Everyone come over to our loop at 4:30, hopefully we can be eating by 5 or 5:30. It would be nice for everyone to contribute a dish or something for the grill. Definitely bring chairs too! Assuming most of you folks are coming, it would be ideal if we could have three grills going. At this point, we need one (possibly two) more, so if you have a grill you can bring over for the dinner, let us know. Here's a list of all of the VSTF members with their campsite number (thanks to Kristi). If your name is in bold, please respond to this thread to confirm if you are coming to dinner, and how many people you're bringing. This will help all of us to know how much food to bring. Also, let us know what you're contributing foodwise, so we don't all bring the same things! Kristi (site 86) Katstar and Clayton (site 89) harrison429 (site 90) flyingham (site 91) offspringin (site 92) offspringin's Parents (site 93) 65callie (site 94) potomac30 (site 95) flyingham's parents (site 96) Shamlin (site 97) kto17 (site 99) lellyann68 (site 100) cjloftus (site 105) Here are some details on who is attending so far & what we're bringing to eat: katstar & Clayton (site 89): bratwursts, buns & fixins for them (2 adults) Harrison429 (site 90): cocktail smokies and spiced apples (2 adults) offspringin (site 91) & offspringin's parents (site 93): deviled eggs and sweet treats for dessert (4 adults) flyingham (site 92) & flyingham's parents (site 96): food tba (4 adults + baby?) Our gathering is only a few days away so let's get this dinner plan sorted out PDQ! Looking forward to seeing all of you this weekend, Kat PS: If there are any members just coming for the day, we hope you will plan to stay for dinner!

My wife and I and a baby are planning to be there.
I'm planning tortilla soup for Friday night and it fills my crockpot so there may be leftovers.
I am thinking about making garlic herb salmon for Saturday if that sounds good.... I have a small gas grill I can bring over but it may only be big enough tfor the salmon.

It is great that all of you are coming, this thing is going to be quite a shindig! To answer the questions about bringing a side dish plus whatever you want to grill: yes, that was the initial idea for this thing. It looks like we will have three grills available (thanks potomac30!). (sidebar to kto17: your salmon sounds tasty...you may want to plan on bringing that little grill anyway & just have it dedicated to the fish so it doesn't have to mingle with the other stuff). As far as plates/utensils etc. go, it seems like the disposable routine would probably easiest...If anyone has some extra picnic stuff lying around that you'd like to contribute (paper plates, forks, napkins, etc.) go ahead and bring it. Sounds like BYOB is the way to go on beverages. Check out the updated RSVP list below: Kristi & Ronald (site 86): chili & oyster crackers (2 adults) katstar & Clayton (site 89): bratwursts, buns & fixins for them (2 adults) GRILL Harrison429 (site 90): cocktail smokies and spiced apples (2 adults) offspringin (site 91): deviled eggs and sweet treats (2 adults) flyingham (site 92) & flyingham's parents (site 96): food tba (4 adults + baby) GRILL potomac30 (site 95): Georgia caviar and chili (2 adults) GRILL 65callie (site 94): potato salad (2 adults) Shamlin (site 97): steak on the ground, possibly deviled eggs (2 adults + 1 kid) kto17 (site 99) : garlic herb salmon (2 adults + baby) lellyann68 (site 100): mac and cheese, possibly sausage balls (1 adult) cjloftus (site 105): crockpot meatballs (2 adults) 23 adults 1 kid 2 babies Kat Read more: vintageshasta.proboards.com/index.cgi#ixzz1cUyAox00

Ok, so now everybody on the list has responded and is coming to dinner. Good job folks! I updated my previous post with the RSVP/food details rather than reposting the same info again, if anyone wants to review it. Bottom line, we've got 23 adults, 1 kid and 2 babies. Wow!

I will be bringing two long folding tables, some extra chairs, and a small gas grill. For food we will contribute tortilla roll-up appetizer sandwiches and my parents will contribute a dessert "pizza". I also wanted to update that I'll have one baby (1 month old) AND one kid (2.5 years old) in tow! This sounds great, and I can't wait to meet everyone.

To clarify my earlier post. We are planning to attend Fridays AS gathering and the chicken tortilla soup it for that but any leftover we will bring Saturday.
The salmon should be enough for at least 4-6 adults for an entree.

Steak on the ground for Saturday night will be enough for 8-12 people.

Knowing that my I tend to eat very early by most standards and my husband generally eats only basic food (considered a picky eater by others we expected to make our own entree and share side dishes. We'll be there tonight...Yippee!
