I could really use some help identifying the year and model of the Shasta I just purchased. The seller called in an Airflyte, and it was registered as a 1964. I'm pretty sure its older than that. Some tells: scalloped upper front cabinet openings, wood screen door, NON-rounded cabinetry edges. My guess is 59 - 62 Airflyte but I want to be sure before I register. The Vin is DS-17642 (tongue), S-17642 (metal tag on rear); PA 2386 (tongue), 2386 (metal tag); M-66 also on metal tag. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Wood screen door is usually 59 and older. Please post a pic.

Is the original mirror there? Date may be on the back... same with bottom of sink, I think.

Please do post a pic, we can't help much without it. Also please read through the other posts in this forum under that topic or any topic area that you have a question on before posting. You might just find the answer or at least where to look in a prior post. The shasta yahoo group has a good database of vin numbers that may let you place it. The letter seems to often have something to do with where the trailer was manufactured. Read more: vintageshasta.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=title&action=display&thread=3673#ixzz1ks22jr00

I checked some vin numbers on the Yahoo Group. You can guess by other vin numbers that are similar to yours. Our state DMV had our vin as a 1961. Our vin is V 7878.
