My wife and I(which means me) are redoing a 1961 Astrodome. Please check out our blog as we are doing a ground up resto and changing the layout and wood species from Ash to Birch. schweetcruisers.blogspot.com/

Just went to your blog and commented. How long is your Astrodome, not counting the hitch? It is also set up differently than mine. Mine has a toilet and holding tank area but yours looks bigger, even from the outside picture of it hooked up.

Dragonfly, I don't know the exact dimensions but I know its about 13ft by 7ft with out the loft. Its old set-up was just the standard Astrodome/16-sc set up with the couch in the front and two fold down tables and the couch in the back with the single fold down table. Kitchen on the drivers side, two closets on the door side and tiny toilet in the back corner.

Just checked out your blog. Nice work! The photos tell a thousand words.
We are just beginning the restoration of our '62 16SC which is absolutely identical to yours except for the sleeping loft. The layout inside is exactly like ours.
I wish you luck and will be interested to see how you rebuild a dinette where the front couch it. That sounds like a fabulous idea!

Wow, I love what you are doing. And I'm really wishing I had left my trailer with you in Denver! Your shellac and cabinets look fab. It will definitely be Schweet when you are finished.

That's what's good about shellac it is easy to fix. Each coat melts into one another. You probably did not even need to scuff it up unless you are trying to get the paste wax off.
