I've looked and looked and can't find any discussion of this here. My '72 Compact has rectangular taillights and the backing plate of the left one is also the license plate bracket - one piece deal. It's plastic so of course it's broken through on one of the holes for hanging the plate. Hmmm. I see no other place for the license tag. Has anyone found these taillights? Anyone found a creative solution besides buying new lights? Can I buy a separate bracket to fit it if one is not built in like this one was?

Pictures? I have not seen a rectangular tail light on a Shasta before. If you have all of the pieces, it can be fixed. I just got finished repairing a round Pathfinder #575 that was cracked. Almost undetectable, now.

Another picture for tomorrow. I bought a license plate bracket in Auto Zone thinking the bracket was separate and just mounted behind the taillight, but lo and behold, it's one piece. My husband insists, too, that it can be repaired, but I wanted to cry uncle, hoping a quick order on vintagetrailersupply.com would solve it for me. No such luck.

Thanks. It's very similar but bigger, 1 1/2" wider and 1/2" deeper. Might work? I'm not sure that my rectangular lights are original. I haven't seen them on similar models.

Here are photos of my driver side tail light that's got the broken license plate bracket, and the other one. Can you see the small holes around them, particularly easy to see on the one with the lens. I assume that means that these aren't the original ones, but I expected the original ones to be smaller than there, and round. Are the holes in the right place for the smaller round ones? Should I be looking for those instead? Attachments:

I see that it didn't let me upload both photos so here's the one with the broken bracket. Attachments:

did you find one? Let me look in the garage and see if I have the one from the 68 Compact. Likely I don't since hubby went nuts cleaning the garage last weekend and tossed out a ton of camper stuff but I can check.

Oh, agh. Now I' on pins and needles waiting to hear. If he threw them out, that'll teach me a lesson because it's usually me who tosses things.
