Hi All, Can anyone tell me the size tire I will need to replace those on my 1965 Compact? I am thinking of going with the bias ply as opposed to radial. Also hoped to buy whitewalls but just browsing the net they are extremely expensive. I think I will go with the whitewall paint, (if I ever get the right tires!!!) Thanks very much John

Hi John, I don't have a 65 Compact, but make sure the wheels/tires clear the hub and wheel wells. Some of these old trailers make it very difficult to change the tires. I like the idea of bias. Your local tire shop might have a few spares to fit.

My 75 Compact had 185/80 /13 biased ply when I got it. They are hard to find. If you dont mind a modern spoke wheel Tractor Supply has biased or radial mounted on wheel ready to bolt on 99 for biased 109 for radial. Hope this helps.

I bought mine from Kaufman tire. The main tires are radials and the spare is a ply-bias (much cheaper) Of course mine is on a 70 and they are not really rounded side wall (the way a white wall would appear) so those are probably not what your looking for. There are very few options that i found even when not looking for white wall. Some places do not carry them. Others carry one style.

I've seen two restorations of 1961 Compacts that have used ST 175-80-13s.

I am in the middle of purchasing a 1969 Jet 17ft trailer. The Nevada desert has turned the tires into prunes. What size tire do they take, and what is the wheel bolt pattern. I am thinking of getting tires and wheels to match the tow vehicle. Now then, if the deal does not go thru, will I be booted out of the forum?
