Good news folks. I have talked with Steve from Vintage Trailer Supply and he is interested in reproducing the Shasta factory name plate (the green printed one by the door) and the LP and ELECTRICAL data plates. You can see those here... Green badge: 4.bp.blogspot.com/_uZoeVft5Da8/SpYvTwywAbI/AAAAAAAAB9o/HNmHDcUDAFU/s1600-h/100_0686small.jpgLP: 1.bp.blogspot.com/_uZoeVft5Da8/SrBdRFEi4HI/AAAAAAAACHM/bHvvV0nlm5c/s1600-h/100_0797.JPGElectrical: 2.bp.blogspot.com/_uZoeVft5Da8/SrBdTJQPpwI/AAAAAAAACHU/zXJIy-zAwAo/s1600-h/100_0798.JPGI thought we would start with producing the green Shasta nameplates from the Goshen, IN and Northridge, CA factories. If there prove popular then the other factory badges will be made. The majority of the Shastas produced either came from these factories. HERE IS IS WHAT I NEED HELP WITH...1. If someone has a good HIGH RESOLUTION photograph of their Northridge factory badge it would be a great help. I have one smallish picture which may work but a larger better quality photo would be better. 2. As you can see, my data plates are pretty rough shape. If someone has these data plates and are willing to send me good HIGH RESOLUTION photos of these plates it would also help. 3. Please let me know if your YEAR/MODEL had these electrical and LP data plates. There should be two holes/screws near your electrical plug in and the front skin area near the propane tanks. We are trying to pin down the years the Shastas had these. I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks in advance... Brian

Brian- This is good news about the plates. Mine is from Van Nuys, CA. and I will certainly buy one or more. Mine does not have any other plates and the VIN is stamped into the front right tongue. No LP or electric plates at all.

Brian, Our 62 SC16 has the the three tags that you show. Ours are in about the same shape. It would be great if Steve could start carrying reproductions. Thanks.

I will pull my badges tomorrow and send you scans. I have a Van Nuys Shasta badge and a Propane badge.
FYI, a little wet sanding on the brass propane badge followed by some polish and she looks as good as new....and you can read it as well.

Jim,
You are the man! I tried wet sanding mine. That rust just was tooooo deep in the ink. I didn't have much luck.

My '61 had the propane badge, and the electrical badge. I'm not sure where my Shasta was made, I'll have to dig through my box and and look for that badge. I think it said Van Nuys, but I had assumed that was where the headquarters was and it didn't really mean it was where it was made.
I'll check them for quality and see of they are worth photographing.

Brian' That newly listed very clean appearing, '63 Airflyte listed on e-bay that is already up to $3,500+ in bids features a photo of at least one of those badges you are seeking. Maybe you could contact the seller and just ask if he/she has all 3 badges in clean condition, and would they provide you a high def pic of each. Can't hurt to ask. I know you would have found this yourself, but I love to participate on the Forum and post. I have a "my ebay account", and if you would rather not ask, I may be able to ask the seller privately if he/she would provide pics. Let me know. The other new Shasta on e-bay with the "upstairs bedroom" is pretty nice too. safetybruce

Brian, Aww man, sorry to appear so squirrley. Never mind about contacting those two sellers...the one with the 1961 Astrodome w/wings or the 1963 Airflyte...about requesting photos of their information plates if they are in good condition...I just finished sending a request to both sellers. I hope one or both respond. If they do, I will pass along the photos. safetybruce

Van Nuys badge attached. Van Nuys California was the West Coast headquarters and factory until the late summer/early fall of 1960. Shasta then moved their west coast production to their new facilities in Northridge, Ca. Jim Attachments:

Still need photos? The green badge I have is from Grapevine, TX and is not original to the camper, came from a 65 or later Stratoflyte. Jim's LP badge is very similar to mine. Also have one on the front right side, circle and domed.

Did I just get stupid lucky, or what?! I have readable data plates on the 1966 Shasta that I just bought. I don't see one at the electric outlet. I am beginning to think my trailer is in very good shape, but I am new to this and anxious to learn.

The LP Badge off my '63 has a lot more text than the one in the photo that Jim posted from his '61. Mine are weathered so bad that in a photo they almost look blank, but if I angle them around in the light I can read everything.

So yours looks like the one I originally posted on the first page Don?
A little update... I sent my badges off to Steve. He sounded happy about this project. I told him to keep me in the loop so I will keep everyone updated.
If you still have more information or photos of you data plates please post them or email them to me. I still need every example of plates I can get.
Thanks everyone.
