I'm not sure where to put this, but I need help. I've moved my sink drain and now I have a 3" hole street side that I need a cover for. I would swear that I saw a round louvered vent about 4" in diameter that would work for this, but now I can't find it! I thought I saw it on VTS, but I've checked every page and don't see it now. Does anyone know where I can get something like this?

sure you want a vent? Another hole to lose cool air.

Lopo, I found a small round plastic louvered vent cover that I bought from a local r/v store to cover hole where I moved old vent also. Try on-line for r/v supplies for new campers.

You can always plug the hole, from the inside, with a round piece of wood. I use louvered vents to hide holes / cover up existing unused holes in the side walls. This is the street side of the 1970 Serro Scotty I restored last year. The Stainless Steel vents are for ventilation for the refrig, AC unit and the battery charger. There are other "Covers", such as a false cable inlet and a false plumbing vent cover. Attachments:

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone. What I did was, while trying to install the Norcold icebox in that big spot in the front corner of my Compact to the left of the sink, thought, HOLD IT! That is too valuable of "real estate" for that lousy icebox - I want to open that up to make the potty closet bigger. So then I had to move the drain that ran through it so removed the trap, and ran it straight down through the floor (except for a 45ยบ bend so that I would avoid running into the frame), and then ran the drain under the trailer like a good girl with a connection for my blue portable "gray" tank. So that's how i ended up with a 3" hole in the front street side area. I sure wish the electrician fairy would move all my electrical lines from that closet so I could make a teeny shower in there, too.

Here are some marine use vent covers. They are bigger diameter on the outside but the inside is 4 inches to fit inside the hole. Maybe someone (Ross?) can tell you if these will work. www.iboats.com/T-H-Marine-Louvered-Vent-Cover/dm/view_id.47932Barbara

Thanks, Barbara! They'd be great but they're for a 4" hole and mine's a 3" one. I checked Ross's source and they don't have one currently but apparently expect to soon. I don't mind having a little ventilation in the potty closet. I actually thought about putting a window in there if I could find a small one like my little upper bunk one.

I thought for sure I read 4 inches. lol..I guess I read what I wanted to read.

The one I remember seeing was 4" inside diameter and 4 1/2" outside diameter (and had a little screen on it), so you remembered that part, just not the 3" hole part.

We think enlarging the potty closet is a good idea , but where did you put your icebox???

I didn't. I wrote down what I would need to keep cold, and it came to "milk, small jar of mayo, a few eggs..." I'll be on the road, not camping, and plan to buy fresh and use my 12 volt crockpot at times, and it'll be easy to buy bags of ice, so a small cooler will be fine. And if I sell, it'll be easy to put the few pieces back to make a floor and side wall if the new owner wants the fridge space.

Update on the small round vent: I found the one I had been looking for on ebay. It was expensive, but I was desperate and paid $14.99 for it. When it arrived, I wasn't happy with it because it had no holes drilled, but little tabs, like to pop it into something, instead. It did have a screen, but big deal. That's an easy thing to do. Then I found exactly what I wanted, one just like it but with two holes drilled instead of those tab things, (no screen) at vintage campers.com for $1.99!!

Lopo,
I'm happy you found your cover. Hopefully you were able to return the ebay item? Or maybe you can resell it.
