I'm really just quoting from my restoration thread to get this into the increasingly popular awning category. Having now done one trip, wish I would have made the awning with an 8ft projection from the trailer rather than 7. Biggest find....use the keder awning tape from sailrite.com and spur grommets for your pole holes. I will also be adding some cross dowels so that the awning is "tight" and won't pool in the rain. Will post to this thread when that's done. And the picture from the first time camping with it.

Your awning is so pretty and i think the size looks right for the compact. I'm about to make mine and am still choosing to only come out 6 1/2' so as to not overpower the small trailer. My door and wings are getting in the way of making anything wider than 7' and that will only be a 5" drop which I'm afraid will look too small. How long did you make the overhang on your awning? thanks

Great job! It looks so perfect with Aguadream.
Where will you be placing the cross dowels? Along the front edge??
Thanks for the tip on the keder awning rail. My next awning I want to make optional side walls so it can also double as an outdoor room. The receiving railing shown in their video would make that job soooooo much easier!!

Thanks Diane....I learned it from you! Yeah I was thinking of that receiver piece for add a room as well. The cross dowels will go along the front, as soon as I get another tent pole to use for the third grommet.

Wow! You did a fabulous job--it looks like something you would pay big $$$ for. I would have given up on the first scallop!
