Another quest for replacement lighting fixtures! Although the two in the camper are in reasonably good shape, I started cleaning one of the two and the stripes starting coming off. Hmmmm. A dilemma...go with stripes or go with grime? I'd rather go with clean stripes. 1.) Does anyone know where I can find these? or 2.) Can anyone tell me what to call these so that I can look for them on eBay (or elsewhere)? Thanks! Attachments:

I have one of those lights that I removed from our 1971 Compact, several years ago.
A few of the stripes are missing small sections, but overall, the shade is in great condition for it's age. The mounting plate has some pitting and rust. The light switch and the swivel work great.
If you are interested, PM me and I can email you a few pictures.

cropper2, those lights show up on ebay periodically and the prices for them have gone higher and higher. I would snatch up Ross's offer in a second if I were you! I refused to jump in the fray on ebay and moved the one in the rear to the replace the one in the kitchen and bought a new light in Lowe's, I believe it was, to put in the rear area. (The usually show up on ebay under these key words: vintage sconces vintage trailer lights mid-century eames period.)

The PO of mine used 75 watt bulbs and one of them is a little crispy on one side. I'm hoping once installed (with CFL bulbs) they'll be ok.

Mmm, when I picked my rig up a few weeks ago the PO was telling me that my lamp shades (which are like yours) were only purchsed a year ago at the "Camping World" RV place or the Airstream place accross the highway in Colfax, NC. You might want to surf it out. I thnk that you can still get the same or similar profile of these things. I might be wrong though.

I've spent much time browsing the Camping World in Colfax Pathfinder mentioned and didn't see those shades. But then again I wasn't looking for lamp shades so I could have easily overlooked it.

Here's what I found in either Lowe's or Home Depot (can't remember which). I hope this photo doesn't end up upside down like some of mine seem to. if so, you can probably still tell what it is, but I mounted it aimed down for reading in bed. Attachments:

I browsed the two websites mentioned looking for them and couldnt find them either. thats the same shade used in our 70. we took one out completly, the shade was desinegrating and we just ended up not wanting a light mounted where it was mounted anyway so we deleted it. The other lamp that was over the front window was in solid shape. I question how sturdy it actually is so we are very careful with it. If i ever find a supply of replacements i would pick one up as a spare. until then i just tread lightly (get it... its a light.... ha. time for some more coffee)

Yeah, I am with you fellows. The shades are not listed on the web pages. I am going to drop the PO an email and see if I can get a straight lead on them. Mine are brand new, I'll check and see if they say "made in China".. grin

I need these sconces too. Actually, I need the ones that lopo referenced in her last post on this thread: www.ebay.com/itm/220978406670?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_500wt_1173 That one is from a Scotty (they are starred, rather than striped and it's what I need, but it is very similar to the ones that were used in Shastas (striped). Unless somebody here who is talented (you listening, persimmonpal and Susan?) will make facsimiles and sell them to us, I want to try to make (i.e., refurbish other things to create) my own sconces. Would one of you please measure an original sconce and post the dimensions? And what are they made of? Glass? Ceramic? Paper? Something else? Thanks for your help!

Here are the measurements for the sconce shade, which is made of 1/8" plastic. The top diameter is 1 7/8", bottom diameter is 5" and the height is 7". This Sconce is going to a new home. Attachments:

I saw one of those at the RV salvage place outside of Denver, if you are interested their website to contact them is www.5starrv.com or the next time I am up there I can take pictures if anyone is interested. I probably be going up there soon to buy some Hehr Seals.
