I have aquired a what I think is a 1953-1957 Shasta, I found the VIN; C6699, but have looked under the sink, and behind the mirror for the year and unfortunately, there is no year markings anywhere that I can find. I don't have any paperwork for the trailer and would like to find out what year it is before I have the VIN verification done by either DMV or a Police Officer. Where else besides the sink or mirror might I find the year, or can someone tell me what year it is by the C6699 VIN #? Thanks.

From a Shasta Database of VIN numbers, it looks as though yours would probably have been built in 1957 in California, based on your VIN# C6699
1955 C5068 1500 14'
1955 C5079 1500 12'
1957 C7651 Airflyte 14'
1957 C8336 1500
1957 C8509 1500 12'

Ross does the database give info other than the year? Mine is C13820B9.

I found a vin on a Shasta 13 footer I just bought.I was told it was a 1963 13 feet with tongue .Din not include bumper...P4828 see link www.jeffmiller.us/shasta |

Based on the VIN's that I have, the size and pictures, you probable have a 1965 Compact, which was produced in Pennsylvania.
1964 P3067 Shasta model unknown
1964 P3294 Starflyte-SC 16'
1965? P4828 Compact
1967 P6962 Compact 13'
1967 P6993 Compact 13'
1967 P7382 Shasta Compact (Jacksonville Fl)
1967 P7654 Compact
I leave the question marks in place, until more VIN's are made available for the Database.
