I drive near your neck of the woods when I travel back and forth to Charlotte once a week, Neal, and when I go to High Point or Greensboro.

1962 Shasta Compact VIN# V10340 - the VIN# is off of the previous registration (I have copies from 2 previous owners) I will double check the tongue to see if I can verify great to learn where to look! The mirror on the door also has 1962 date. We are 99% positive ours was only cream colored and it still has the bare aluminum Z-stripe. There is no indication of a second color on the lower 1/2 - please verify with your records - Thank You for all your research it really helps!- A & M Attachments:

My mothers Vin is C13090 It's titled as a 68' no model on the title. After looking at other Shasta's I believe it's a 62 or 63? The closet door has been removed so I'm not positive on the date.

Based on the Vin#. your Mother's Shasta is a '59 and also based on the Shasta's that were being produced during 1958 - 1961, in Van Nuys and Simi California, Airflytes were the Shasta of choice.
Do you have a picture that you can share? This way we can determine what the Model is.
Thanks, Ross

Took this pic with my iphone in panoramic, a little distorted. I almost sold my mothers Shasta for $1200 last week. I had it listed on craigs list for $2000. Guess I'll hold on to it for a while. Attachments:

It looks to be an Airflyte! It would be a great looking Shasta with a little TLC!

I would really like to know my year and model please... I am thinking mine is a 16SC (or Air-Flyte?) The year is between '64 & '66 from what I gather. More square then round but do have the "Wings" Here is what was on the data plate: M-66 S-24444 3923 DoH No. A-94919 Also have a plate by the door saying Northridge, CA The license Plate is Oregon Trailer Dec '64. I cannot get to the VIN number on the tongue at the moment but if needed I can try. Just have to remove the fold up Bolt-on/Fold up tongue wheel that is covering it over. Description: Left rear towards front: Commode (no shower), then a closet, 3 burner stove, cold water sink and you have to pump air into the water tank to get it to flow , then Fridge and then the dinette in the forward area with a Shelf above. Does not make a bed. But has metal rails that do go all the way if I added some wood so it could sleep 6 instead of 4. Right Rear to front: Sofa/Bed, Closet, Small storage along closet, Door then the dinette. Exterior Color is White with the Orange Thunderbolt, Wheels are painted orange with chrome Moon Hub caps. This unit does not have a heater but all appliances do work including the commode and kitchen sink... even the AM mono radio with the horizontal antenna mounted along the right side near the door. Double handle vents on the roof even work. Along the rear bumper is a storage (approximately 1' x 8') for the included Awning (mold/mildewed) but intact for the pattern, the "rusted" poles and jack stands. It's made of plywood with a fiberglass hinged top. It appears to be all original? The only alteration that I can see is the "aircraft instrument light" hung outside above the door for a porch light and a battery box behind the 2 propane tanks. Thank you for any insight on what my new project might be.

blackstratus,
If you can get the VIN from the tongue, that would help, as well as a few pictures. Also post the total length, from bumper to tongue.
Your description sounds just like a late 60's, 1967-1969 Shasta.

I've been meaning to get this done! And as I set here in my office and send off the property taxes of $2.80 (those bandits) I thought I'd list her here as well vin #.. S7959 I think that's from Columbia SC. It's titled as a 1971.. the Model is not indicated and I do not have the "Loflyte" pot metal sign under the Shasta sign. Was it a Loflyte reject? Or perhaps just a very special model.. The rare Colin Fletcher edition? PS; Mental note, I gotta take some new pictures. This is so old. Attachments:

Hello, I have an Airflyte and the VIN # is V5270. The title says it's a 1964 but I'm starting to think it might be older (date under the sink is stamped 1959) ?
