I'm brand new to this forum. I just purchased a 16 foot Shasta from a guy in Kannapolis, NC. He gave me a title, but I'm sure it's for the wrong camper. He had two and sold the other one the day before. It is definitely 1969 or earlier, but the title says 1971. The best I can tell from the tag on the tongue, the VIN is V12684 or V12384. It looks like other 1963s that I have seen. Inside a cabinet is a wiring schematic and it say Model 1900, but no year.
Can anyone help with identifying the year and which VIN is correct?

Based on the VIN's that I have logged in, you are correct about the year. I believe that you have a 1963. As for the VIN, could you take a picture of it. This way, a few more eyes may be able to tell if it reads V12684 or V12384. Once we know which one it is, I will log your VIN in.
I took four pictures of the shell and 20 different ones of the VIN tag from different angles. My husband sanded and scrubbed it with a wire brush to help clean it up but there is pitting. Best guess now is V123_4 with the blank being either a 3 or an 8. If anyone wants to see the pictures and offer their thoughts, here are links:
