If you are planning to be in Colorado this summer or just passing through, check out www.starliteclassiccampground.com/ in Canon City. The new owner has been a HUGE help to me in my restoration and this place looks REALLY nice. I have never been there personally but am planning to get down there this summer - beautiful part of the state and he has some really nice Shasta restorations for nightly rent as well as campground sites in general.

Looks great. We will be in Salida for the FibARK festival with our 56 shasta in mid June and would love to stay at your campground if it's nearby. My 12 yr old son will be competing in the slalom both there and at the Junior Olympics in Golden in July. We're trying to figure out whether to bring our Chocolate Lab. Could you pm me with details?
Other members, do you have suggestions for campgrounds in Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, WA, OR...as you can see we are planning quite a road trip!!! Gonna be gone all summer.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the wife and I visited the Starlite last weekend to see a trailer show and got rudely asked to leave by a women that appeared to be the owner. We drove in the front and stopped to take a picture when she yelled at us and immediately told us to leave. I tried to explain that I was a vintage shasta owner on vacation without the trailer just looking. I was rudely told to leave! Will NEVER go back. Good luck! PS, the place is all on dirt and a major dissapointment.

I'd give Sylvia and Larry a chance if you're going to be in the area. I've heard she has issues with people taking photos, and having been in her spot trying to build up a resort business, I'm sympathetic. I think she was getting complaints from guests that they felt their privacy was being invaded by all the picture taking. Tough spot to be in. Sounds like she needs a friendly front gatekeeper.
