I'm looking to replace a exterior panel on my 63 SC. I called All-rite and Hermet looking for the correct 6" run aluminum. Both said the largest run they would do is 4". Does anyone have a good source for early Shasta siding..preferably one that ships.
Thanks Steve

some have recommended either local trailer repair shops or those places that make or repair big truck trailers, they have long aluminum sides as well. then you have to find a place that has a long aluminum brake to put the creases in it.
I found a local place near me (very small shop) that can order it and had some in stock, they do custom aluminum/metal work and put sides on stock cars.

Thanks Guys
Talked to hemetvalley, they only do a 4" run. Same with the metal company...their hand brake will only do a 10' sheet of metal so they can't do the fab by hand. Uexports I found a trailer repair place locally and will give them a call Monday. I have my fingers crossed because I torn off the damaged panel and there is no going back. It seems this needs to be done custom on a large hand brake. Other than finding birch and siding all is good. PUed the trailer Monday and the demo is almost done.
Regards, Steve

I let my fingers do the walking here locally (Oakland Ca) calling metal fabrication shops (think furnace ducts, decorative metal, etc...) and found 2 that could handle the work. Funny, both of the places mentioned above have been used by members here to get a 6" brake, which is pretty standard. Where do you live, that might help folks source dealers around you.
Google Sheet Aluminum Fabrication and I bet you'll come up with several options near enough to you to make it work.
Not sure if they will ship or where you are but try Moose Metals in Concord CA Walter Mork in Berkeley CA

BEWARE Interstate Metals.
They have messed up badly on orders; wrong patterns, badly dented shipments. They weren't helpful and told the buyer to deal with the shipping company...
They will do 6 inch breaks, but it's best to pick the metal up in person.

I believe Hemet Valley RV has a new large hand break now. It's a 14 footer. They did 6 inch breaks for me. www.hemetvalleyrv.net

Mobitec, unfortunately I need 13 1/2 foot panels for the sides. I got a quote from all-rite metals, (they have a break large enough for the work) but it was pretty steep, especially when you consider crating and freight charges. I’m hoping to find someone local that can do the work. There are a couple sheet metal shops around with 20’ breaks. Got my fingers crossed…really want to keep the 6” break look. It’s nice that you have a local supplier.

Just found out that the break is a new 14 footer. So Hemet Valley RV can do your 6 inch runs for you.....

I have found 2 shops locally that can and will fabricate the pattern I need. I have chosen one of them that is going to fabricate my new skin. They are both simply sheetmetal fabrication shops that do both large and small sheetmetal work. The one I initially was going to use here locally couldn't make the kind of joint that is needed on this type of installation. It is called a "long pittsburg joint". If you end up using a local sheetmetal shop of this kind, it is best to take them a piece of the siding you need along with the joint. I live in Washington (the state) so this information may not work for you but I certainly would look into local fabrication shops before going the shipping route. We were recently repairing a 1988 Tioga motorhome that needed some new siding which we had to order and the shipping costs turned out to be almost as much as the metal itself. The local shops could not make the type of bend patterns we needed so we had to go that route. Good luck

I'm in MA but just ordered my metal from CA. The freight was just under $300 for all the panels and roof. If you are interested it was Hemet Valley RV...they can do the 6" break pattern.

Hay was wondering how sells the new siding that you don't have too polish. I've seen somewhere but I don't know the cost. They say it's cheaper then polishing. Im John from portland oregon I have a 1955 ten foot aloha my front and sides are bad.
