Hey guys, can anyone give us any feed back on Grandfather Campground,125 Profile View Rd., Banner Elk, NC 28604? We had to cancel last weekend, but bless there hearts they sent us a "rain check" for our deposit. In the states today? Don't figure I guess its because they are good people, or it's because they are from the Carolina of the North. US too.. Well, anyhow. Anyone else been there? Like I have said before we are new to the camper thing with wheels and all. I trust it's not a Parking lot

I have driven by Grandfather Campground, which is off Hwy. 105 near Foscoe, NC, a few times per month, on business and it looks to be a great little getaway. Carla and I always say each year, if we get a decent Winter weekend, that's where we should go. They are open year round and there is a trout stream that runs through the campground.
I am sure that during the Summer months, there are seasonal's who stay three months out of the year. We camp in a lot of campgrounds that are full of seasonal's and they love seeing the vintage trailers roll through. They always have plenty of sites available for the weekenders!

Hello Boys and Girls, Well, the wife and I made it up to Grandfather Mountain NC. for some well deserved R&R last weekend. Been awhile since I had travel these woods and the wife had never been there at all. Many things are the same but many things are not. A wonderful travel though and the weather ? Ahhhhh! the best. Anyhow, Campground review. Well, the reservation started off bad. We were to have site 27. We get there at 7:00 pm Friday and someone is in our spot. I mean in like a tick! In our spot A Taj-Mahal tent, a dinning canopy and there is corn on the fire He offered me a "snort" Jack and apologized.. Good man. After some work with the office we stayed in sight 28.. It was better.. Sight 29 would be the one I would recommend. There are acres and acres in the back of this property though. It was not bad mind you, but will I book here again?.. Probably not. I could hear road traffic from this front line. There is a stream in front of this row and that was nice. We ended up grabbing a blanket and a bottle of Vino Friday and Saturday night and sitting on the banks at its' edge. Chilling out there together with a candle and my guitar was pretty cool. Wife's toilet? was alright (she said) Men shower? Just pain lazy and stupid! Take a little pride brother. I wanted to clean the thing myself and give them some instruction. Monday morning there was a ground man in there with a "Steam cleaner" It was looking better. I think someone else musta had the same idea. Okay, Wife said in a score of 1 to 5, 5 being the best, this place gets a 3 and that was because of the stream. I agree. These sights are tight.. I can hear your snoring tight.. We have stayed in 3 places with our camper, this place was the most undesirable.. Western NC is the bomb guys. This place? Well you can sleep there... IMO Happy travels friends.. By for now from the "Fears and Loathing in a 71 Toaster" Attachments:
