Back by request some more defined pics of the "Redneck A/C. system!!
I like this system because you don't lose a window or valuable space inside your camper. The setup is 4 or 5 minutes tops and lastly, the unit is outside. Really no noise to speak of. I have been camping most of July/August in SC HOT! GA HOTTER!! AL HOTTEST!! The A/C system performed like a champ!!!
In the pics below you have one portable A/C unit with remote. The flex hose is 6"inches wide and 6' feet long. Note the handles bolted to the unit making it easier to carry. One hose is the out/cold air line and the other hose is the return. Tape the heck out of the front of the unit to keep out the rain. Remember from the frame of the A/C unit back was designed to be out in the weather so no worries there. I knew I would use that boogie board for something!
This Pic is from the ground/underneath the camper HOOKUP SIDE of the front dinette seat. You are looking at simple 6" PVC end caps. Technically called clean out plugs. Note how they are threaded so you can keep the rain out while traveling and the critters too when you are not. WARNING. MAKE SURE YOU SET UP THIS SYSTEM ON THE HOOKUP SIDE of your camper!! I am able to reach under with one hand and install the flex hoses.
Now we are inside the camper looking down at the uncovered dinette seat. The metal duct work directs the cold air into the camper. The Air Out is your return or exhaust along with your end cap/clean out plug. Note the wooden tool if you need to break her loose!! The portable fan next to the cold air vent to circulate the air.
We stored extra water in there while camping and when your traveling you can fill it to the gills!! Hope that is a little more clear to those asking for this system. Time for bed and more polishing tomorrow... Yipeee
