Does anyone know what used to be inside the tiny recessed area inside the grab handle just to the left of the front door? Looks like maybe a lens of some kind, if so what color?

I think it was clear. The owner could put their name in the slot, too. The light socket is just behind that. If it isn't there, you can add it.

Picture, please? Our Compact doesn't have a grab handle. (Well, they didn't need one, they sat only about 2" off the ground. Talk about your low rider!)

first I have heard about the light socket...I don't have any Shasta with that specific kind of handle, but I know a similar question has been asked before and one member verified that it had an slightly opaque or clear plastic insert, so it makes sense there could have been a light source behind it, especially if the key hole is anywhere near that location.
