What do y'all think of removing ads with links that have been deleted?? With no pix, and no feedback, might be a good thing...
Thanks.

Agreed. Threads without pics are worthless anyway, let alone a defunked link too. Delete away!

Yea. I would say dump them. I always try to add some photos and the full seller description so when its deleted for sale we still have all the details as a reference. (a make shift blue book for sold trailer prices if you will)

yes, and to keep the workload off our diligent and conscientious administrator, I would encourage those of you that post these to keep track and delete your threads as well once images/links are dead.

This is one place where the cutters and the non-cutters can agree. Ditch 'em!

I'll do my best from now on. I agree that the photo and possible selling price really helps... So ads that have info worth saving will be left. Thanks y'all!

One of the biggest problems that I see with the site is that people will join just to advertise items for sale. Then, they don't remove their ad when the item is sold and don't have the common courtesy to reply to those who inquire about the item. I recommend charging for advertising items for sale. Charge 10.00 to list an item and allow the item to run for one week. If they don't renew the ad for an additional week, free of charge, delete it. Also, they must be prompted to put in the location of the item. Putting in pics is there business.

Having a classified section is kind of an important attraction for a website or in this case a forum. I like the way it's done here. Saves all of us a lot of time looking around all the different sites like Ebay and Craigs list. Lots more eyes out there collectively. I've had classified sections on my websites and once I started charging, no one advertised so I just dumped it all together because of the work involved in maintaining it. But I think they are a great asset for any website or forum if you don't mind the maintanence.

Some of the ads need to be deleted. (lack of pictures, no price, etc) However, I like to keep the ones that have a picture and description for our archives. For instance, if someone wants to see a 72 Compact, what kind of interior it has, etc, we've got it...
I think that if a trailer is sold, the seller should change the thread title to SOLD. Twday, I agree it can be frustrating to try and get info with no response. Most trailers in any kind of condition are sold within weeks.
Charging isn't possible with all the *free* listings out there. It would slow down the single time posters, tho. Trouble is, most of the trailers listed aren't owned by a member. They post just to help the rest of us...
I've been weeding slowly and trying to keep anything with photos and info.

I'm new to this forum but I really appreciate the saved links and photos. It helps me to learn what different models look like, prices for etc. Other members posting trailers for sale is a huge benefit for me as I have been looking for some time and often the pickins in my area are slim. I also appreciate seeing what others have done to their campers in anticipation of selling.

Is it possible to move the sold items with pics in a separate folder? Then if we want to see what a 72 compact looks like, we can go to that "Sold" section and view it. Just a thought as I too look at old postings for what a trailer looks like.

After really thinking about this I think we should keep all ads, BUT add SOLD in front of the title for the thread/ad. That way we can research prices and link back to a trailer that has been restored.

Not sure we need a sold section, since I'm guessing all of the older ads are of sold trailers. I'll check into it.
The only ads I'm deleting have no info. In other words, a craigslist link (expired) no price, no picture, no nothing...

How about moving those photos to photo bucket and link them under the specific models in the model forum? I know that's a lot of work, but I imagine folks would volunteer to help.
