Hi, I am trying to take off the skin of the 62 Astrodome, and I am pretty much all set.. The only thing I cant figure out is how to remove the water fill from the water tank. Any ideas?? Here are two pictures of the fill and the tank.. Also, there is a link that shows all the work I got done today. Its coming along! Thanks for any help anyone can offer!! s719.photobucket.com/albums/ww200/persimmonpal/Shasta%20Astroflyte/

I took a saws all to the water tank from the inside. My water tank had a rusted out hole hidden in the bottom. However, I am still trying to get the big bolt thing off the bottom of my water fill pipe.
Good luck!

It takes two. Heat the threads inside the fill with a torch. Welding gloves help with unscrewing the fill. You may have to put a big pair of Channel Locks on the tank pipe inside. (2nd person)
Also, tap the pipe if you can with a brass hammer. The fill is pot metal, so be careful. If you don't have the lid, it can be split off the pipe.

I sprayed the inside of the filler with WD40, let it set awhile and took it right off with a pipe wrench
