New Shasta Owner - 13 footer (I think it is called a compact) and I love it. Met some other Shata people at a TCT rally and they said I may be able to get some interesting information on my trailer. I an not totally sure on where to find the serial number but on my registration was this number BB9862 I have attached a picture as well. Any help much appreciated! Thanks, -Sig Attachments:

Welcome to the VSTF! Yes you have a nice little Compact there. I believe the shape of the Compact changed from the canned ham shape like yours to the next-gen more squared shape in mid-1964. Our Member Ross will be along shortly to tell you what year it is, and if your manufacture plate which should be just to the left of your door handle is missing, he will also be able to tell you where your camper was built! If you are curious before Ross comes on to post, take the mirror off the closet door. It will have the date it was made (the mirror) stamped on the back, and that should tell you what year your Shasta Compact was made. And congratulations for scoring one that still has her wings!

Hey Sig,
BB is not one of Shasta's prefix letters. Based on the 4 digits, 9862 and the body style that you have would date your Compact to either a 61' or 62' born in Indiana or a 58' born in California.
The Manufacture Plate next to the door handle, as Bruce mentioned, will be the key to the State and Year. Please, let me know what City and State your Plate says.
Would love to see more pictures of your Shasta!
