Friday Morning - Sleep late, or for those with no potty it will be a PJ parade to the restroomsLOL. If you see this creature parading around, please don't shoot. She is a wild animal but not dangerous your in luck callie, they dont allow firearms in the campground. means you can prance around in that all day long. go ahead (we all know you do it at home anyway)

With so much uncertainty going on with the board might I suggest that everyone make sure they have downloaded and/or saved this rally information, and/or persons email addresses so they have someone to contact should we lose this info or this site suddenly disappear... also, anyone interested in playing bingo needs to bring a roll of pennies, or poker chips, or little pieces of paper or some of the many screws that have been replaced during your rebuild , (or anything else non-permanent) to use to cover the "numbers" on the bingo boards. I want to be able to reuse the boards so we can't stamp or write on them. thanks

We have just completed the restore of a 1962 airflyte and a 1965 GMC that was bought new by my father in law and are excited to have reserved a campsite for your rally at Riverbend campground. We will be on site B29. Happy to be joining you. Do we need to do anything else?

I feel your pain kto17...we had 2 leaky faucets in CW, one still does but we'll be at the rally with bells on and in dry weather since we're getting the rain out of the way now. so buck up, no one is ever completely ready to go, just ask boandsusan and for MrsOffspringin... Fish fry - I'll be bringing lemon pie Saturday breakfast - scrambled eggs Saturday potluck is still unknown sunday breakfast we're uncertain but if we attend we'll bring orange rolls (like cinnamon rolls but orange instead)

I really wanted to get our dinette cushions redone, but we waited too long. That may have to be our big improvement before the next rally.

Curious who is going to the Big Green Egg Festival? To be a "taster" at the event it looks like its 22.09 (ticket and fees if purchased online) per person. This is their schedule as posted on their site.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Schedule Of Events for Georgia Mountain Eggfest (not for the rally)
Pre-Registration is Required. You are welcome to bring your own egg(s), if possible, to cook on if you wish to avoid the possibility of sharing an egg for your cooking.
Friday: May 17, 2013 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM - Meet & Greet and registration (All registered cooks and tasters are welcome). Please bring a covered dish (heavy hor d'oeuvres) or something to cook on the egg (there will be 3 large eggs set up at the meet & greet along with charcoal and lighter for your use).
Saturday: May 18, 2013 7:00-8:00 AM - Cooks sign in and setup (Note: cooks may arrive earlier if they want to get something started before 7:00 AM. Cooks may even do an overnight cook Friday if they choose). 9:00 AM - Tasters sign in 9:00 AM - Let the Eggfest begin! Food will be available most of the day. Just wander from egg to egg to sample foods and discuss recipes and techniques with the cooks. Note : After conclusion of the Eggfest recipes from the cooks will be posted here for free download.

We are still in a mess . Managed to get the rear skin closed up after replacing rear framing. Rear paneling is back in, though stain doesn`t match quite perfect. New counter is now finished. Bed is rebuilt and new flooring laid. We worked all this past weekend in the rain and still need to, install fridge, build cabinet for microwave, redo bathroom floor, touchup exterior paint. Build or buy new step (Bo fell though our old one this weekend lol), shoe molding around new flooring, fix leaking cargo door, and clean. That`s just our list. Friday I switched out becinala rear window and still have to finish her table and run a new main cable from her fuse box to a new exterior elec inlet. BUT WE ARE READY! lol

fear not, there's no such thing as an ugly duckling, just a swan-soon-to-be! besides, the people are what's going to make this rally fun, not what a trailer looks like nor its level of rebuild...just arrive safely.

My poor little camper is gonna be the ugly duckling of this group! Kimb, No worries ours only looks good from a distance, or up close if the sun is in your eyes. It needs plenty of work. Our Astrodome we had before was in need of some serious work and we took it to McKinney where we met a bunch of the crowd coming to Riverbend. We were so glad we went and had a blast! We made some new friends the condition of the camper was no big deal. I just tried to think of it as showing room for improvement for the next rally.

My poor little camper is gonna be the ugly duckling of this group! Yea, ours adheres to the rule of most the trailers.... the 20/20 rule. Looks good from 20 feet or 20mph driving by. Were looking forward to it. Starting to pack more seriously now (really just deciding how were going to fit it all in the truck/trailer)

My poor little camper is gonna be the ugly duckling of this group! I think the best time to attend a rally is probably before you get a good start on yours, this way you can pick up on some ideas from restore/refurbs, that are ahead of you:). I got a great days work in on Mr Sam. Bo hadn`t been looking forward to building the cabinet for the fridge and microwave, especially with the time frame and the cramming we`ve been doing. So today I decided to surprise him and do it myself while he was at work. I got the cabinet built, fridge and micro installed and was trimming it out as he arrived home. He was so happy (relieved )that he went out after we`d eaten and installed an elec outlet behind the drawers in the kitchen for the fridge and microwave. We`ve used Mr Sam to camp in but only for a night here and there..he wasn`t really set up for a few days camping. He`s pretty close now though. ONE MORE WEEK!!!

BINGO PLAYERS...Don't forget to bring a roll of pennies with you to cover the 'numbers' with on your playing card. you'll need 25 pennies per board and your choice will be a card with 2 boards (hence the roll of pennies) or a card with 4 boards in which case you'll need 2 rolls of pennies.
I just checked the weather and it's looking near perfect for the rally. nights low to mid 50s and days mid 70s with some clouds. (zip code 30546 if you want to look it up since I can't post a pic)
very good point boandsusan!

I agree, you have to bring it before any rehab or as beat up as possible, so everyone can be very impressed at your transformation! . Can't wait! We have so much to do... Lets hope this weekend is productive.

At least I'll have a roof over my head I am planning several more local trips this summer. I'm not good with a hammer, tend to hit my thumb more than the nail. I just bought my first power tool(impact hammer to remove the tires), unless a hedge trimmer and a weed eater count. When I am ready, I will be hiring someone to do the restore on my camper. I got my tires off yesterday, decided the tread looked better than I was expecting. I took them to a local tire shop, had new valvestems put in and had them rebeaded(?). I am waiting for the handyman I contacted to get back to me, he will be doing the ballbearing repacking, putting in my A/C and building a mockup bench for the drivers side dinette bench.

SITE C11 OPEN FOR RALLY
We have had to cancel so Site C11 will be available for the Rally.
Anyone in B loop wanting to switch to C11 please let me know so I can tell the campground and then it won't be opened up to general public. Trying to keep the rally loop intact.
Please post here if you want to switch. First post, first get. Then I will let you know when I contact the campground and you will need to contact them also so they can allow the switch.
