Sold the AS last week. My heart belongs to Shasta . As much as I would like to have a late 40's AS in my flock. I'm trying not to do a happy damce right now. LOL!!! The only AS I would consider buying, and only if it fell in my lap, would be a vintage Bambi. I`d like one to use as a guest house. It wouldn`t leave our property.

Jeff, I will call them and verify if they raised rates and see if they will work with us as a group and honor the original rate. I will also check about holding a few more sites. Glad you guys can make it. We enjoyed meeting you at McKinney 2011.

Robin, thank you for posting the updated list. It will make it easier to track and not have to go back to the 1st page.
Looks like we do have an awesome group so far! Petewhit and Madonnak are the only ones we haven't meet in person yet. I'm really excited there will be other kids there!

No problem Doug, I just beat you to the punch. Well the kids will certainly love other kids to play with but I have to say I might miss out on my entertainment watching you run around after your boy! teehee

I'm sure you will get your entertainment and I will get plenty of exercise. (Jeff)Flyingham's son is about the same age as John and Katherine may be crawling by then....... Imagine if we brought our two 85 pound labs, but they will be visiting their cousins that weekend.

We know another couple that recently purchased a camper that is similar to a Burro or a Scamp, but is made by U-haul. They have two kids, ages 5 and 3. We could invite them to join us, or would you prefer to keep it shasta folk? Let me know!

Harrison429, the beautiful pink compact from McKinney, is bringing their Covered Wagon instead. We may talk my parents into joining us in their Airstream. Last count we had about 8-10 lurkers that want to go if their camper is ready or schedule allows. And 2 unconfirmed "goings" from Facebook that I'm checking on. If everyone tries to reserve a spot at the last minute we may not have enough. I will call the Campground again to try to hold more spots, but they will not be on the river if they are near the group.

montanablue, once one of us... has jumped the fence into the Airstream arena. I was thinking of him, (Rick and his family), but have not mentioned this to him

Just an update. Some of you are on TCT facebook so you already know.
Kimberly Hoke, the NC SC & GA rep for Tin Can Tourists, found out about our Riverbend gathering and has been trying to find someone to help organize a TCT Georgia rally. They are intersted in partnering with us on this years gathering and possibly making it an official TCT event in the future.
Originally this started as just trying to get some friends together and to try out a different campground. Right now its still a small group but it may grow. Having never attended a TCT rally or orginzed a rally I'm a rookie. The TCT rallies I have looked into in the past look fun but timing has not worked out for us to go. They appear to be well organized with lots of scheduled events that are voluntary to attend.
I'm agreeing to partner this year and if all goes well, make it a TCT event next year, with the understanding that this is a fun relaxed weekend and I will need help if it grows. Kim is eager to help and also have a relaxed event so I think this will work out.
I'm trying to secure more sites on hold, possibly A1-A8 if they are available, those have full hook ups (w/sewer). I hope this doesnt discourage anyone from coming.

It's my fault for bringing that up on the tct Facebook page. I didn't realize it was associated with tin can tourist until I read your post. Should have asked you first regardless Sorry.

Pete, its all good. I welcome their involvement and don't mind our gathering growing. I just don't want people disappointed in a relaxed schedule. The TCT rallies we looked into had very busy schedules. I go camping to relax with my family and get away from the worries of work and remodeling our home. I don't want to run around babysitting. My kids will keep me busy enough.

New Update!
Spoke to Riverbend. We now have C1-17 for those that don't need sewer. FYI - In the C sites, Friday they will pump your tank if you need them to. We have B24-27 booked and B3-5 held for those that need sewer. We also have use of one of the pavilions that has a kitchenette, tables, and chairs.

Sweet, I am still hoping to make this, but I have so much left to do to my camper, and money is tight and the weather is Cold, but we will see where I get to. I blew a chunk of my funds on a couple of guns I wanted to get before they are all banned, along with some magazines and ammo.

We are hoping to come if we can decide on a good two lane road over the Smokies. Maybe 64 along the Ocoee River in TN.

I so want to join this group. But 23 straight hours each way...! Would you allow a cutter? We will let you come this time, but the cutting thing will be our secret. Kidding, its still a Shasta, you are always welcome. You've worked your butt off to rescue it and get it back on the road. Cutter or not you are always welcome at my campfire! If you come we will have to come up with a long haul award for you!
