Hey all! I'm Doug's wife (kto17). We are on our way home from our maiden voyage with the new camper. We went to the airstream rally in stone mountain. I am super excited, but now realize we have lots of details to figure out. Lynnetta and Kristi did a such a great job! We have a lot to live up to. Can't wait to see/meet everyone! I know John (our oldest) is super excited. I don't think he walked anywhere all weekend.

I located my projector screen that i abandoned at my parents house when i moved out. Its in perfect working order and ready for the trip. I only have the screen though so someone else will need to provide the projector and player/laptop.
Screen measures about 70" x 70" when open all the way. if the projector/format is widescreen we just wont extend it to full height.
in other news, we pulled out all our staging stuff and our swap meet stuff and sorted it down. Still a ton of stuff.... need a bigger truck or trailer....
sigh 4 weeks and counting....

I have a question about the swap/sale meet. Is it at a different time than the open house? I would like to tour the trailers and not have to man a table during that time. As you can tell, I have never been to a rally :-) and I can not wait to attend one!

I intend marking my items for sale and not man the table during the open house. I figure if someone needs or wants an item, they`ll come back or catch up with me later.

I pictured it being at a different time, we would all bring a table or our stuff to a specific area and all be together (not in each site). I've never attended a swap at a rally either but i dont much like the idea of just leaving my stuff out un-attended.

I can see now that we`re all gonna have to keep an eye on 65callie LOL. I figure that we`re leaving our campers open and unattended anyway during the open house, that is if we intend looking at the other campers. Or does the whole group go from camper to camper during an open house? Think I`ll just rent one of offspringin pups for the day

I spoke to an attendant at Riverbend, when I inquired about a tent for my grandsons. He informed me that because we have the last site on the loop, we have a really large grassed area in front of our camper. We wouldn`t mind if everyone wanted to set a time and set up tables in front of us.

But rest-assured I have not forgotten. Eye for an eye, in this case prank for a prank. I already warned mrsoffspringin to keep Ron (our gnome) on lockdown

We all met at the time at the end of the loop for instance and started the tour from there. So the trailer owner only has to give the tour of their trailer once and everyone gets to see it together, seems like everyone has a great time together discussing different things at each trailer. I don't know if that's how Doug wanted to do it though

I like the group tour idea and setting up together for the swap meet but will be fine with anyway they decide.

(oh, btw kto17...i recognized the plate at stn mtn brkfst this past weekend so i knew what food/dish you brought! haha)

Harrison429, glad you noticed the dish!
Gotwings and I are trying to learn from the Stone Mountain Rally. It went really well. They did the group tour and I liked being able to stay with the group.
As far as the swap meet I don't think tables are necessary blankets would be much easier to pack and use for something else. You can bring a table if you really want.
We are also learning we need to delegate some small tasks to keep organized and still have fun.
BoandSusan, would you mind overseeing the swap meet? What time do we want to do it?
Offspring has offered to bring the projector screen and we are discussing trailer signs to write year make and model and put in the window for the tour.
Pete, you mentioned having a projector and sound equipment. Can you bring it?
Harrison429 and Dianemayes can you both bring your cornhole games? Anyone want to be in charge of the bracketing for the cornhole tournament?

Sure, we don`t mind overseeing the swap meet. It`ll be fun and I`m sure becinala will love to be involved as she`s really into the swap meet thing.

Wow, I can see this is going to be fun! I don`t even know what a cornhole is, let alone play a game with it.

I don`t even know what a cornhole is, let alone play a game with it. The northerners play a similar game called washers. Its like horse shoes with bean bags. Its has really grown in popularity at tailgating in the last 5-10 years. You have two plywood boards roughly 20ish feet apart set at an angle with a hole cut out near the middle of each. If you get your bean bag into the hole I think you get 2 points and if you land it on top of the board its 1 point. You can knock the other persons bag off the top, but if you knock theirs in they get the points. As you can see I'm not a pro but someone will sure know how far aprt they are supposed to be.

Yes we'll bring our cornhole game. Since our board is different from Dianes (ours is plastic, theirs is wood) we'll have to swap game boards to keep anyone from having an advantage if one board is easier to play on than the other. I can create a bracketing 'file' but can't currently print anything (printer died) so...no promises unless someone can print the file for us. (Can anyone suggest a good printer to buy? I'm sick and tired of trying to research a good one for home use. No sooner do I think I've found one then reviews tell me it sucks )

funny offspringin after i thought about it though i wondered if there is a reason to have one. after all, we aren't starting with any names and don't know how many people will be involved so it's really just a fill in the blank thing turns out there are sites for creating them. this one came from challonge.com/tournaments/bracket_generator?ref=MQYyvgJYLiAttachments:

I can just bring a whiteboard, have one that's about 24x36. We can fill it in at the beginning of the tourney and just go from there. Might have some other uses having it there.... just an idea.

that sounds like a better plan. it will even be large enough to be seen rather than gathering around a little sheet of paper. i'm glad you have lots of stuff!
