Hi Forum Members, I wanted to start a thread to get something going in this section. I was walking through the camping section of my local K-Mart and saw a small portable tent that has two sections. One is for a portable shower and the other for a change room. I figure you could put a porta-potty in one section and a sun shower set-up in the other. That way if you are boon-docking with a Compact or with friends who also do not have a bathroom this could provide privacy and or also be great on a rainy day. Unfortunately I was unable to successfully attach the web link. If you do a web search for...shower tents...and click on the Northwest Territory advert, you will see the model I purchased. I realize this may be a simplistic comment, but it seems better than trying to find a big bush. What other alternatives have members come up with?

I have the portable shower enclosure /sun shower that we use for camping, it can also be used as a porta potty tent. Works great. I was planning on rigging a set up for boon docking. I was also thinking that the solar hot water could be gravity fed to the sink for handwashing inside the trailer. this is the one we have www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___77847

Bruce, Is this it? www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_9990000023694611P?sid=comm_kmart_productpgI would definitely use something like this as a portable outhouse for the porti-potti! I think it would be perfect and be great not to have to walk 1/2 mile to the campground bathrooms (: I like that it's free standing and you don't need a tree to hang. As long as you aren't in it doing your business and a massive wind comes along LOL!

OK, I had to order one of those from the Kmart site. I was thinking these would be great for not only a portable toilet area but also whenever we camp somewhere that has a beach, this would be a great place for the kids to change in/out of their bathing suits instead of tracking sand/water into the trailer (:

I showed the kids and they were impressed LOL! I think they too like the idea of having somewhere to change other than everyone cramming in the trailer trying to change clothes.

Yep, that's the one we bought too. Haven't used it yet but I think it's going to come in pretty handy.

Coleman makes a portable water heater for showering or washing your dishes that runs on those little cans of propane or you can hook it up to a tank with a hose. All you need is a water source and a 5 gallon bucket works fine. It has a pump and that runs on 12 vdc or I think you can put flashlight batteries in it too. Saw one at a rally.
