The weather has been great for working on it. Also the temp. is perfect for shellac applying.

Got the $500 truck, my non-dealer mechanic is putting new front shocks, rear spring shackles and a sticker on it for $400 (you may remember the PO was quoted $3000 from the scrupulously honest dealer).

I paid the storage fees for each of them. Ugh. Got to get busy fixing and stop spending on just sitting. I come on here to read what everyone else has done while I'm dreaming and planning for what I will do. Someday. Soon. Thanks for my morning dose of motivation!

Didn`t do anything on the Shasta as Mr Sam is tucked away under the shed, waiting for us to finish Lopo`s Frolic, which we have been working on all day. Broken window has new glass, awning rail was cleaned today with new putty applied and reinstalled with new ss screws, new eyebrow installed above the door, trimmed some excess putty tape off J rail.

I got my bathroom LED light installed, and that one sheet on the wall glued and screwed in place, small bites.

Two steps forward, three steps back. Hubby finished the kitchen laminate and it looks great. The bad news - we somehow left the door to the trailer open for a few hours and one of our cats decided to claw up our newly upholstered seats. I'm not very happy right now. Anyone else out there have a series of disasters when you were finished or almost finished? Between the leak that ruined our new back birch panel and this, I'm just about done. Attachments:

In my pity party, I forgot to congratulate all of you who are making so much progress. I love reading about all your efforts. Kudos!

What is it with cats and trailers? i have now found a total of 4 dead cats in trailers. People leave the doors open and then shut them without looking inside first. At least upholstery can be replaced easilly. not like replacing birch paneling. The inside of your trailer is beautiful... Never give up!

That's true, but I just spent five hundred bucks to have them upholstered, and I never even got to use them. I feel like we keep wasting money. Oh well, it will get finished eventually.

Being that nothing else needs to be done to the seats, perhaps the upholstery person will charge less. No padding needed. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Working on a new screen door. I'll deal with the new back panel and replacing the upholstery destroyed by the cat over spring break.

Finally can say i did something to the trailer. Technically it was yesterday but I am still counting it. The hitch needed a new coat of paint and the cross support angle under the front of the camper had never been painted (by me) so it got a new coat of black as well. Also touched up the white paint on the propane tank.
While the paint was drying I looked around the entire camper to pull out the things we do not use when camping. Things i have been hauling around but have never used. Rope lights, the original canopy (replaced by the new red/white one) etc etc. Probably took 25-50 lbs out of the trailer. Not much i know but every little bit has to help.

Looks great! I think we have a similar color theme. I went with all red on the lower bench with white piping.

This trailer had cusions when it came to me. I had to go out and find and buy some bench seats for it and they were 2 inches too wide, so the upholsterer had to cut them down to size. In doing so he said he would have to cut one inch off each side instead of just hacking off one end. That's to keep the metal parts of the seat centered and ballanced. Good thinking on his part. Im pretty happy on the way they turned out. I tried one in the trailer and it fits perfect. Forgot to take a pic though. More shellacing to do now.

Glad you like them. These dont have the piping going along the seam of the V. I kinda like it better that way I think. Going to have to sit in them first to see for sure.

I went out to check on the SC today, just 'cause. And thought I smelled something odd. I looked and looked, under bunks, in cabinets, everywhere. Like a foul smell. I'm like "what the hell is that"? Opened the oven. Um, gross.
A plastic bag with potatoes, growing roots. And dead maggots. And I got lucky. They were all in the bag, every one of them. I examined every mm of the oven. Got lucky. (They've been in there since we went to South Bend, IN last summer!) how 'bout that.
Cleaned a po-mag bag out of the Shasta today.
