Well I guess the rot hit the screws and that was enough for the walking papers. Went back for awhile but could not find anything. 64 1500 cargo door looks like the picture before it took a leave of absence. If you can help me out, I appreciate it. Damned ROTTEN shame. Sort of speak! Attachments:

What are the demintions? I bought and dismantled a Scottie this Fall for some parts I needed. I have a couple of doors that are burried in the snow right now. I could dig them out.

It's very easy to rebuild one of these things. Or is yours all metal. At worst you could take the one off the other side, and over to a sheet metal shop. I'm sure they could fabricate one for you. VTS sells cargo door locks.

well, I only have one side for a door. I think the door wriggled loose and then flapped in the breeze until it took absence. I will go out tomorrow and measure the hole. A little larger, I can make work. Smaller is tougher to make it fit. It was an all metal door did not have an inside just alum. skin thick and folded alum. frame. Maybe I could beef up a new one.

I dug the little one out and measured it at 8 1/2" x 17 1/2" opening. The big one went across the back and would be way too long. This is probabley too narrow But let me know if it will work.

The hole measures 11 inches by 25 inches. Very rotten around it so I could frame larger if needed but not too much as the storage dimensions are not huge. So looking for a 10 X 24 door and frame. Anyone?

If the wood is so rotten around it....I think you likely have a larger problem on your hands than just a missing cargo door. Welcome to the fun of finding out how much work you have on your hands!

Well , I finally went out to cover the hole and got a closer look to what happened. While the screws are loose in the rot that isn't what happened. After removing the drip cap, It seems that the door took its leave by sliding itself out of the hinge. The end on one side has an alum. flap and the other (back) does not. I know that it did not fit well because the frame was so bent. PO said they used to store wood in there and by the looks it must have been a full cord that dragged through on the frame. So I guess it just came loose and then blew until it slid out. Still looking for a replacement door and frame.
