I'd like to present Shasta Lodge Currin. This is her debut after a very long renovation. Very exciting for all involved. It's been quite an adventure. The adventure will continue with travel and repairs, but we declare the renovation complete. Wooo Hooo! For those who haven't seen it unfold, the whole saga is at "www.currin.us". My sincere thanks to all the forum members for their help over the last several years. You're great.

Wow, you mean people actually finish these things?

And then actually use them? This looks like it should be in a glass showcase, sitting on your mantle! Gorgeous!

Thank you all for the kind words. This week we took Shasta to the Lava Beds NM in Northern north California. It's the closest dry camping to us in winter (60 miles). There are many other camps but they're mostly snowed in now. We were the only ones in the campground which was wonderful. Clear skys with more stars than I've seen for some time. The dry camping systems worked great, 12V, LED lights, furnace, 'frig, etc. On our first outing to the KOA we found a fresh water leak which we are addressing. On the way home we broke the mantle holder in our Veritas propane light. Hopefully I've ordered the right parts to fix this. But by and large it was a great success. We, and the dogs, had a great time. cowcharge: It's a transition rather than a finish. We've moved from "renovation" to "repair". At least we get to go camping in between the repairs. lopo: Yep, the plan is to use it a lot . Again thank you all, look for us on the road.

Love it! Thanks for the inspiration and hope tonight. I read through your entire renovation and was very impressed with it all, especially your own fabrications, although I was holding my breath with the timeline. Our plans are to travel across the country to Oregon in the fall with our rebuilt Shasta to visit Phil's sisters. The Fall of 2013 may be only a dream.

That's one beautiful Shasta. And it's different. I love that! Thanks for being different. Glad you had a great time on your trip. Sure looked like great winter weather. I do a winter trip every year also. You're right about the stars. Much darker in the winter than it is in the summer.

Hugh, Would you consider fabricating more of those Rock Guard locking hinges? We have the same screen door like hooks that are badly rusted and need replacement.
