I'm nearly finished my restoration of my 1953 southland runabout canned ham {that some of you may be following in the sob section} and wanted to share with you the fact that Overstock.com is selling 48-inch-wide mattresses for 129 dollars and free shipping. The same mattress is sold on the Sears site for 179 dollars, which is still cheap for those of you who know how expensive mattresses in odd sizes are. I just ordered mine and the reviews were stellar. I will be happy to give a review once I use mine. I probably have a month to go before I am ready to take Miassis Dragon on the road. Just wanted to share.

I wonder if this is the same one I ordered from Overstock about 8 months ago. If so, I love it. It came rolled up in a box, and when you open it, it swells up to size. It fits my 3/4 sized bed perfectly and is plenty thick.

Paige, it is that one. The many reviews described it. I don't have time to get the link, but you can search on overstock and type in 48 inch mattress.

www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/InnerSpace-6-inch-3-4-size-RV-Foam-Mattress/5784920/product.htmlPoint of interest: Copy includes the following: This Innerspace RV Foam mattress has been designed to be installed exclusively in recreational vehicles and/or the cab of a semi-tractor to be used as motor vehicle equipment as the term is defined in 15 U.S.C. section 1391 (4) 2 of the U.S. Code. Not for home or mobile home use. Wonder if the mattress-tag police are now obligated to make sure you aren't trying to sleep on these at home.....

I used to be a production manager for a mattress factory that built both innerspring and foam mattresses. The stuff we made for RV's had to be treated with flame retardant. Believe it or not, it was just water and Borax sprayed on the cover! I don't get the "not for home use" other than that striped fabric is extremely stiff and not real comfortable, at least the stuff we used was.

I need A/C and by looking at this photo you have inspired me to look here for the perfect location. How hard was it to put it here and how are you venting this?
Also, I have a 56 shasta 1500 and it has about a 47" width if I am really pushing it. Did you just squish in the sides of this since it's an 1"+ bigger?
