Found this big ham hiding out. Made contact with the owner and working on possible purchasing in the future. It's not for sale now. Not much of a picture, but any guesses? Attachments:

It has that "bellied-out" rear on it (is that a contradiction of terms??). Times like this I really miss SB.

Who me? It would be a hitch the truck and carefully drag it out and hope for the best. Might have to brace the structure around it. It was really nasty weather so I didn't go looking in or around it yet. My wife is going to kill me! When I asked about it they said, that's Grandmas and she used to live in it. She's in her late 80s.

Trailer looks like it's in its late 80s, too! And, no your wife isn't going to kill you. It gives her another chance to make it pretty after it's repaired!

There's a trailer in that photo? LOL...
Now I've seen many cases where a house has been added on to the side of a trailer or a trailer has been added on to the side of a house. I've never heard of a house being built AROUND a trailer LOL... If you want to know more about the trailer you are going to need to see if you can find a VIN on the tongue. That's a start. Also, pulling it out or dismanteling the house might help identify it.
With the Sash Style Windows it looks like the house was built in the early 50s or late 40s. So the trailer was most likely pulled or pushed into that hole in the house which may have been opened up to accept the trailer or could have even been the garage? In those days most people had disconnected garages. Not part of the house in other words.
Get some photos of the inside along with the VIN. If the trailer is not a 50s or 60s trailer, it's not worth your effort in my humble opinion.

I'm thinking it may be well worth it! If it's a 40s trailer and been under cover all these years... Wow.
Need photos of the inside!

I second the photos, even if you don't end up with it, it'd be great if you could get in it and document what is there.

I'll see if I can get back out to it in the next month. I'll take pictures and might make an offer so they know I'm serious and see what kind of reaction I get.

vikx you are right. If it's a 40s it could be a treasure. That rear window looks promissing. It looks like part of the roof of that part of the building is gone.

way cool kto17 er, uh, tell me where it is so I can go check on it...for you of course! I can go have a cuppa (short for cup of tea) with the ol' folks whilst they tell their story. You know, soften 'em up.

Umm, how did they get the trailer up there? And why wouldn't they keep the ramps? It looks as though it's just sitting on its frame. I need to stop looking at this one.

Um yes, the engineering of getting it out is a challenge, but what the fun if its easy. I'm thinking build 4x4 runners under it and slowly drag it out on the runners. I think its up on blocks currently. Good thing I have a winch on the truck. I don't want anyone or the truck near it when I pull it out. harrison, we can talk about that offline. I may need some help.

It is a good thing you have a winch on the truck - rather than the wench the guy in upstate NY with the "build-it-yourself" mess for $50! It'd be pretty hard to get a girl to pull that trailer up all by herself!

Hey, I'm just as trustworthy as you Vikx...if that's saying anything! hahaha
Well if it comes down to you actually getting that trailer kto17 this wench would love to watch the extraction and I'll film it for all to see because that will make some exciting entertainment.

Umm, if that's the back, wouldn't it mean you'd be pulling it out the other side of the building, where perhaps there is no ravine?

I dunno, cowcharge, it looks about the same on the other side. ;D
I can't wait until someone can find the story behind this one. Or maybe I can. It's so much fun to speculate!

That is the back. Between me and the camper/structure is a gravel driveway.
Grandma recently went into a home so it is a sensitive subject, or at least I think. I'm treading lightly. Anyway she is the legal owner. About 3 months ago I unknowingly walked past her and waved to her while she was sitting out in a rocker at a business nearby.
The granddaughter (possibly inlaw) I spoke to said it was put there before she was born and she is my age, mid to late 30s, so prior to 1975. And as I mentioned earlier she lived in it for a while. It would be so cool if she was the original owner.

Gosh, I'm dying here.
Some of these old trailer were canvas and/or masonite covered with canvas, then the buyer put metal over that.
Hope you get to meet the owner. The stories she could tell...
Sorry Harrison, just yanking your chain.

Ya I have a 1950 Anderson that I am removing a house from right now. And this one has current paperwork. Hoping to get the trailer away from the house without hurting either one. Going to be tough but I will make sure and do a video on it.

Well, I got more of the story. The property and the trailer is unavailable at this time. It was a sensitive subject but they promised to call me if anything changes.

Hmm, sounds like a good mystery to Hamlet. Oh, if only these old trailers could talk!
