Man oh man, sorry to hear about that. Wind is hard to fight. I'm sure you'll be back on track in no time though.
I have 3 of those shade structures, without sides, that I used to use for camping in the desert (at Burning Man). We would get 70 mph gusts and they would hold up fine, but we had 3' stakes driven into the ground right next to each post, duct taped together. If we had sides, we may not have fared so well.

Ouch, that stinks. I have a 10x15 that I use on job sites sometimes so i know how quickly the wind can pick those things up. Sometimes it doesn't take much. Good luck getting it pinned down and getting your framing fixed.
I ordered a Shelter Logic garage in a box SUV canopy today and will be taking extra caution pinning it down now.

I've just read all your posts. How dreadful, I am so sorry.
Please tell us if you are up and running again. It looks like your recovery was going along. Is the progress fairing OK too?
We are rooting for you. Hang in there.

THAT BI*ch!
She has definitely had me running around in my boxers at 2:38 am trying to tarp mine with15 mph winds and rain coming down. UGHH.
If I were closer, I would come help you get right back to where you were, and then some.
Jeff.

We were able to rebuild all the walls a figure out how most of the electrical will run through the trailer in one day(today). We also had a far well burning of the remaining Shasta pieces last weekend.

Got a good laugh tonight. I was looking for info on marker lights that go over the front and rear windows. I searched Shasta sc16, and found a photo of my camper, linked to great lakes 4x4, and your user name! HA!
.... I got a jeep too.......

I really sure I used a pic of yours while I was looking for mine. Here's the link to me looking for one. I deteted the photo out of photobucket so now I'm curious to how it showed up. www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread.php?t=166817&highlight=shastaI know this isn't a Jeep Thread but.... Here is the second Jeep I built for the kid and I. www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread.php?t=129343Here is the first one I did, 1984 CJ-7, 258 cid, T-4/D300 with a YJ tub. I built it to run around the trails and around town. I NEVER have a top on it from Spring to Fall. Its has new everything, What do you have?

another, I have got to learn to stack photos like you did... and size them properly. That CJ7 really came out nice. You've got me hunting a set of H2 wheels for the 2500, found a set today for 250... Seems reasonable. The jeep is taking much longer than the Shasta ever could. Much more complex. My fab skills are 1st or 2nd grade. I can wrench, but fabbing is an art, I'm not the greatest artist... Front end has been painted since this photo, a fried of mine has a JD2 tubing bender, and I have a pile of new DOM tubing waiting to get made into parts. Rear truss is a Blue Torch piece, other link brackets are Ballistic. PM me an e-mail, Ill send more photos. Attachments:

Seems reasonable. That is very cool, I want one of those one day. I do have a smaller version i can drive, lol. I just bought a H2 rim for $25 on ebay but shipping was $35(I need a fullsize spare). I'm running 315/75-17 I use photobucket. Upload a photo and click save after it uploads, there is a IMG code and the bottom of photo, copy whats in that IMG(basically just click in the box and copy whats inside). When you do a reply to your thread or another thread, paste the info into the message. Press enter and continue on. If you still dont get shot me a PM. It takes pratice.

Those mini jeeps are a trip. www.eastcoastminiclassics.com/MilitaryMBGPW1941-45.cfmI use firefox. then Googled (with Google images), Shasta SC16. !st pic that pops up. I ordered lots of little parts tonight from VTS. I feel like the guy in office space that mumbles about his stapler, except I am mumbling "I coulda had my jeep running by now". But the shasta is cool too. Big key part here >wife<. Must keep happy. Jeep will get done in due time.

Thank you my loyal fans, lol. I have actually gotten some work done on him even though Moby Dick is around and hogging up some time. Because winter is coming fast here I move Beluga to the back yard so that maybe I can get some work done on him this winter. Last week I had a friend come over and install the flooring, we really like the way it turned out. I’ll post some pics hopefully tonight. Ham, did you see that post I wrote on how to post pics using Photobucket?

I did see it! (the photo help post) Thanks. I built a lean-to off the back of my shed to park the Disasta. I laughed at the pic of the JD. I too have a 318. Dang! Do we live in a parallel universe?

So tell me is that a GTO (68-70 vintage) sitting in your garage. GTO's, Jeep's and Shasta's must go hand in hand. We have 2 Jeeps and 7 GTO's ( my hubbys addiction).

7 GTOs!?!?!? That is quite something!!
I have enjoyed the sidebars in this thread. I don't have a jeep or a GTO, but I do some off-roading in my GMC and I have a muscle car too. I think we all just have an addiction to anything with wheels.

Ham, I do think we live in parallel universe, lol. Ya my JD is a 316 that I converted over to a dual spool. I'm reading up on how to add power steering to it. I bought this tractor just so I could plow snow with big smaile on my face. SEVEN GTO'S!!! Why so many?? Yes that is a GTO under the cover. How did you know? Ya, I do like some off topic stuff it makes it fun for all of us. Here's a few things I still have, lol My ’61 Airflyte Special Our custom built MB 1970 Pontiac GTO 455 4-speed This is one of my Ski Doo REV’s. I used to own nine sleds; five were older vintage sleds. Here’s one of my other Jeeps I owned; 1977 CJ5. That thing was so much fun. Dune buggy powered by a 2.3L Turbo Ford engine. I have actually had this on its roof twice. Oh and another time I blew a corner and landed in a swamp, lol.

Thats what I thought. Nice 70! I can spot that front end anywhere. My hubbys first car is a 70 Judge that we've had since he was 15. I have a 60 judge also that need restoration. The rest are all 68-70 daily drivers. We have a large car collection that we've worked on for 28 years. It now takes up a 40x80 shop, 24x30 shop, 2 car garage and an airplane hanger. Thats an addiction. their all running, driving cars and trucks that we use in parades and as daily drivers. Our 44 MB is about to go into a military museum in southern idaho. You should see our insurance bill. I do drivre a 95 Wrangler in the winter which is the only way you can get up our hill in the snow..lol you can see a few of ours cars on hubgarage.com under ms.behavior garage...

diamondrelics...omg...now I remember you said y'all had 7 GTO's I've ben bragging to my friends in Stone County I know a couple that have 7 fine Vintage GOATS!! Well I wasn't too wrong since we used to call them goats back when I was in school and wanting one real bad, a GTO that is. Gonna be looking up ms.behavior garage to see some of the collection Sounds like a lot of us are Hoarders of one type or another...great ailment if you ask me. Distant75 I'm still in total awe regarding the "Beluga" resto. (as well as the rescue of Moby Dick.) That is what made me realize what a Classic that model/era AirFlyte is.

He’d love to be a part of your collection/addiction. ..turbo cars too ;D, not mine here, but I have had three of these money pits GN's are sweet. They're worth some coin up here if you can find one rust free.

Well the past few weekends I have bought some new toys that will hopefully make this build and the one after it go a lot smoother. The first thing I got was the 12" sliding compound miter saw with stand. I have been lookin at one for the last 8 months and I finally pulled the trigger when they offered the folding table for free with the purchase of the saw, a $200 value. Next I bought the bandsaw. Someone ordered it online used it a few times and returned it. I picked it up at wopping $200. I think I scored. I'm getting very pumped to start working on it this weekend.

New tools are a great thing and I'm already trying to justify some new acquisitions even though my existing tools have functioned just fine so far. Looking forward to seeing you start back up on the rebuild.

You seem to still be responding to posts so I have a question about your frame. What are the two angle iron pieces ( about 4 feet long) going parallel to the main frame there for? i really like the way you made the new frame. I need some work on mine and I think I will do a similar thing. You do nice work. Also, where does one get a step? Wayne I'm doing the Sob, 1948 Silver Lodger

Dennis isn't going to work on Beluga, he's too busy riding snow sleds. I bet all those new tools are sitting right in the same place as when photo'd 8 months ago. ;D
