ISO a 13' to 18' trailer. Plz help this newb.
As some of you may know, I am in search of something that would be manageable for me to tow, so I guess between a 13' to at the most 20' trailer. Preferably a Shasta, but not picky.
Hopefully it has a bunk, a dinette-to-bed, and a rear bench-to-bed to sleep five and one Goldendoodle. A potty would be nice but not necessary. Can do cosmetic restore only at this time.
I live in So Cal, but my folks are in Oregon and can pick it up there. Would consider U-Ship if I can afford it.
Thank you in advance for thinking of me if you have something or come across something. My email is oseagal1@gmail.com

It's going to be expensive to find a sound trailer needing only cosmetic work...
I'm thinking 5K minimum and if it's really good, over 8.
If you can live without vintage charm, the 80s trailers may suit you.

Per "Gone Kayaking's" advice I shall provide a Wish List of what I would like in a trailer. I originally posted the above but will provide more details.
I prefer the Shasta's cuz I wanna be like all the cool kids. But at this point, I don't care if it is brand specific.
Size: Something manageable that I can tow. Between 15'-20' guessing. And something that my Honda Odyssey van can pull.
Sleeps: 5 plus a 85lb dog
Condition - 1) Willing to purchase a fixer-upper and pay someone to restore 2) Find one that is in good condition and has been fixed from the inside out. 3.) We can do some cosmetic restore like stain/shellac or paint the interior walls and cupboards. I can sew curtains and I have my upholstery guy do the cushions. I don't care for the ones going into the 1970's. I appreciate the charm and nostalgia the older one have, therefore that is why I don't care for anything newer or past 1970. Not a purist, don't need in original condition.
Features: A potty closet would be nice. A shower too would be even nicer, but not mandatory. We aren't fussy and can go without showers. Bunk(s) would be helpful.
Price: ....depends on all of the above. But I want to make an investment in a solid trailer.
I have been searching for a long time, I'm not just someone who is into the latest Glamping rage. Because my folks are full-rime RVers up in Oregon they don't have the space for us to stay with them. That is why I have been looking for something to take up there to stay in, and for camping trips too. ALSO I am a professional face painter and it would be fun to have something that I could pull up at the festivals I paint at, pull out the awning and paint there instead of schlepping my heavy 10' pop-up tent. But it was just recently I decided to start posting here and ask for help.
Hopefully this is enough information?
Again, thank you SO MUCH in advance if you know or see anything and will give me the opportunity to check into it. I look forward to the day I can post "Meet our newest addition to the family!"

Research your van closely. I don't think 20 feet is a reality.
I'll keep an eye out, Pink. Good luck!

vikx - I agree. We are open to possibly purchasing a new vehicle that would be more tow-friendly because the van is getting up there in years. If we install the transmission cooling kit, the van can pull 3550 lbs. And appreciate you keeping an eye out for us!

I pull horse trailers a lot and the main thing that I've learned is that pulling the weight isn't the real issue, stopping is. Please be careful.

Thanks for posting Pink this is very helpful!!! I agree if you stick with the Odyssey, you are looking at a compact or model 1500 tops....probably not much bigger. A used F-150 would be your ticket! Cause a 1500 or compact is going to be tight for a family of 5 plus dog.
I think you've seen enough by now that documentation is what to look for when you are going to pay a premium. The seller should proudly talk your ear off and show pics of each and every bit of the work done.....
Will keep my eyes open. You might also want to join the Rolling Oldies Vintage Trailer group on facebook....they'll be eyes for you as well.

Bump.
Just a reminder that I am still looking!
I have discovered that my dream Shasta model would be the Shasta Twenty with the bunk in the back. Beggars can't be choosers though, eh.
The search is afoot....
