Would anyone be interested in going to Stone Mountain for Christmas camping? There is talk over on the airstream forum for a rally (listed as first week) but they aren't getting much response and even if they don't get a rally together I think I'd like to go camping during the season...anyone else up for some cold weather and Christmas lights?
Brrr, I got chills just thinking about it! haha

husband came home and ran this by him...he has the week off so we'll be booking for the thursday thru sunday when its time. i'll give this a bit of time to see if enough people show interest that we'll have stn mtn hold a certain section or if we'll all just book our own site somewhere nearby each other.
hope some of you can join in. it will be fun to decorate for christmas!! woo-hoo

Sounds good to us but would prefer everyone together in the same loop. Harrison429: You can coordinate with the Air Streamers to create a rally since you want to become an ASS soon (Air Stream Socialite)

uh, not so 65callie. however, there isn't much interest on their forum at this time and unless some is generatted here it looks like it will be just a group of people as opposed to an 'official rally'. i'll post it on here when we book our site and keep it up to date as the airstreamers book too so we can try to be closer together. (on another note, ugh, i don't care for this new forum layout and where did my avatar go? i can't even find where to download it again)

Will they hold a dozen or so sites for us for a few months?

i don't know, why don't you find out? actually I wasn't going to step on airstreamer toes by attempting to take over. at this time I have no plans to do more than see if anyone here is interested.

yea! glad to see someone finally say yes. there still isn't activity on the airstream site so if I get a few more yes's (not maybe's) i'll actually start planning a gathering or rally for us.

Okay folks, Despite the lack of commitments, Stone Mountain has given me a rally rate of $41/night and are holding 10 sites for us...163-167a (Trail "F" premium Purple sites, full hookup sites for Motor homes, Travel Trailers, Wooden Decks & Gas Grills; close to Pavilion, Store, Pool & Shuttle Stop). Be sure to mention my name or the Glamping Forum when you make your reservation so they book you into one of those sites (you can choose which one) and give you the discounted rate. This is currently an informal gathering with no schedule of events but if enough people are interested I can certainly schedule some planned activities for us. I'd love to have Christmas light displays, pot lucks and even some bingo. I have this listed in so many sites that I may miss posting something so the most up to date info can be found on my forum www.glampingforum.com under the glamptogethers. Stone Mountain ph #1-800-385-9807 Stone Mountain Campground & activities www.stonemountainpark.com/lodging-camping/camping.aspxMy email harrison429@comcast.net Please let me know when you make your reservations so I can keep an updated list of everyone. Thanks and hope to see you there. Robin
