What is the best source for foam for seat cushions? My 1967 Shasta has cushions but we are pretty sure that they are not original. We know that the fabric is not original. The reason that we think that the cushions are not original is that they do not reach from wall to wall. BTW...Our Compact has the "wrap around" dinette. Not sure what it called. My wife does not want to use the cushions that are currently in the trailer. She does not think that she can clean them sufficiently as they are not vinyl but cloth. Looks like we will have to break out the old sewing machine. Thanks in advance for the info. Cheers.

I looked up marine upholstery and foam/fabric places.. Be warned, foam is pretty expensive right now! I got high density foam for my mattress an it's pretty solid..

I got a big shock today when I went into Joanna's Fabric to check prices on foam for my cushions. The 5" HD foam was $70 per yard! Wow. I decided then that I would to find a cheaper source. I searched around and found foam mattresses that I could cut down for my cushions. www.thefoamfactory.comAround $100 for a 54 X 75 mattress (includes shipping)which is $32 per yard.

I am not sure why my previous post showed up 3 different times? Would be nice to delete 2. How?

foamorder.com is another good source. I would advise looking through the many threads on this topic in this section. Use the search function. Read up on the kind of foam you want--high density probably 5" thick. Not memory foam unless it's for just the bed.

Thanks for the additional info. I thought about using a piece of plywood as a backing board for my cushions so that I can staple the fabric instead of having to sew a cover. Is this a workable solution?

Someday, some way . . . I will have cushions. One of the POs installed a permanent twin bed and shortened the benches. So for now, am sticking with that - have painted the bench tops. But eventually, I will have cushions on them.
