PO installed a window air conditioner (great location & drained properly too), but it doesn't get enough air flow through the exterior vent used for the original propane refridgerator. So, each time I need to really cool things off, I unscrew the two bottom screws of the exterior vent & prop the vent lid open with a couple clothes pins - works GREAT However, it is a simple pain in the arse, looks tacky, and the vent is no longer sealed well. Any better solutions out there? Attachments:

What a great idea for adding AC without loosing the vintage look. Have you considered an electric cooling fan? I would say a 12" 110VAC muffin type fan would work very well.Very quiet fans and highly effective. You could install it just inside the exterior vent and wire it into the power for the AC unit. Just a thought.

I would consider having a metal shop make me a new vent cover with larger louvers to allow more air flow.
