Well, I bit the bullet and bid/won some wings off ebay. Paid a hefty price though at $201 This is one of those purchases I have yet to figure out how I'm going to explain to hubby. Maybe he won't notice the wings suddenly on the trailer?? LOL! Makes me wish I could find a bunch of original wings laying around out in someone's field or something to sell. Anyway, hopefully I wasn't bidding against anyone here. If so...sorry about that Any suggestions on how to clean these overall and also get rid of the rust around the screw holes? Kel

Kelle,
I have my wings, but I am looking at curtain fabric for $20/yard! so, I understand your 'need' for these things : )
Anyway, check out Brian's tips on polishing, but I have had great luck with SOS pads and Mother's Metal Polish. SOS will finely scratch the aluminum, but the Mother's buffs it out to a lovely shine. Sanding (Brian's method) will give you a cleaner shine I suspect.
happy polishing!

Paige has got it down but I'll chime in anyway.
The best way to start is by cleaning the aluminum with mineral spirits. Wipe it off and let it evaporate before trying to polish. A little wetsanding would get rid of those stains. However you could use something like a green pad and mineral spirits. That may work.
If all you are polishing is the wings something like Mothers would be fine and is a good cheap alternative. Clean cloths and elbow grease will get them looking good. Brian
