Hi Forum Members, I recall seeing comments regarding the question of how do you keep track of the states/places you have been in your Shasta. One member suggested keeping a journal. I discovered a meticulously kept travelogue with pictures of a 1936 Travelo being towed by a 1932 Oldsmobile. It is a thread from tincantourists. If you do a net search typing in travelo [DokuWiki] and once inside look for the click on the Full Story - 6Meg PDF file You will find a 60+ page travelogue with fantastic photographs that is a time capsule into the lives of a family who truly must be considered the pioneers of modern day cross country camping. I urge anyone even considering keeping a journal to view this fascinating read. There is also a contemporary front on photo of a 1938 masonite sided canvas covered roofed Travelo that is in pristine condition that is cool, but doesn't hold a candle to that travelogue. Happy reading to those who choose to view the travelogue. Be patient while it downloads. The reward is well worth it.

Thanks Jim. One of these days I will figure out the photos and web links instructions and won't have to rely on people like yourself. Being computer challenged in those areas doesn't diminish my enthusiasm to participate, but your help will make it easier for other forum members to find stuff I discover.

Sorry, I also forgot to mention the document is only 27 pages instead of 60+. I was trying to remember what I saw o number of months ago without actually going back to find and download it again.

Thanks Brian, Sometimes I post in the wrong place. This move keeps the board better organized.

thejum57...I will try and download a copy of the PDF and make it available to you through your standard e-mail address as an attachment, if you are willing to supply it to me, when I get home on the 14th of August.

This looks really interesting, but I can't open the file no matter what I do! The pdf file is over 6 mb so it does take a while to load. Just give it a minute or two once you click the link above. Jim

What a sweet read! I truly enjoying it as I've been to many of the places they traveled. Wouldn't it be grand to do that trip today...but with yesteryear's camps?
