So this may seem stupid, but with all my towing experiance, I've never really towed a travel trailer, except when I brought it home. So with my first trip scheduled at the end for the end of the week, here are my questions-
1) do you leave the dinette table attached and standing or fold it down?
2) do you take off the glass globe off the gas light?
Thanks

Hamlet's people leave the table up and the glass globe on. The only time the table leg collapsed was when we were on a really, really bumpy, rutted road, the leg wasn't straight, and the table wasn't correctly affixed to the wall.

You are forgetting that there are no stupid questions here, just some silly answers from time to time.... I am glad that you asked this because in all my towing I have not towed travel trailers either, except for a couple of them that were wrecked and on their way to repairs anyway. I would personally probably leave some room in a drawer, and wrap up the light globes for travel. If the table has an anchor or a locking mech, it should take quite a lot of bouncing before it would fold up. I've seen ones that failed before, but mostly because of weakened wall mounts, which should not be a problem for you.

There are no stupid questions, just stupid decisions to not ask them.
I don't take my globes off. However, I check the screw tightness regularly, probably once per outing.

I have traveled thousands of miles with a gas light and never take the globe off but if you use it make sure the mantle isn't broke before you try to light it. My wife fired ours up years ago not realizing the mantel had broke and the undistributed heat caused the globe to break. As advised above check the screws often. as for the table it is probably best towed in the up position, then it won't be sliding around breaking something. the other alternative is in the bed position. I would never haul it loose. Also make sure your cupboard doors have good latches or don't haul anything that matters in them. Heavy pans and dishes can slide going around a sharp turn or over a rough spot or a sloped driveway approach causing disasterous results. I know this sounds silly but also remove any loose items from shelves and make sure any picture type hangings are hung from two hooks (spaced wide) to prevent them from swinging and scratching your nice walls.

I travel with the table in the bed position just for piece of mind, and I've never wrapped the globes or had a problem because of that. And again there are no stupid questions.

Schweet, one thing I didn't see. Secure the fridge door even if its empty you don't want it swinging around. Ours is a new 2-way with a secure latching door, but those can still swing open. Don't ask how I know. All I can say is, I didn't spill the milk so I didn't cry.
