Hi, I have been looking for an old commode table to utilize in the closet of my '61 Compact. The top flips up revealing a wooden toilet seat, with a porcelain "chamber pot" below it. Very primitive, but functional. I found one today. It looks like a plain square end table and it fit nicely in the closet. I will anchor the legs either by screwing into the bottom of the legs through the floor or simple angle braces. I am posting the first photo in this thread. Attachments:

great idea! I don't have a water closet in my '62 airflyte, but I do have an enamel lidded chamber pot for those middle of the night 'emergencies'.

Hope my suggestion gets other Compact and Airflyte owners considering this alternative. I think I was lucky. I mentioned I had bought one like it back in 1971 (for $125), and was sorry I had given it to a friend because she thought it was "neat", and I wanted one for my little Compact. and asked the antique dealer if he would keep his eyes open for one, and he said "I have one"...I had missed it in his rambling group of connected buildings. Because I bought a vintage two-burner propane tabletop cooker, he sold mine to me for $20...I found the pot on a low shelf, and he "threw that in" for free, because I bought the two items from him.

I am having a problem with a porta potty Im putting behind a cabinate door in the closet above the curb side wheelwell..
If the toilet slides straight out and stays at that height it the seat is 25 inches off the floor and a normal seat is about 17. There is enough room to have a 7 0r 8 inch block ot some such device to put on the floor for a stoop but Id rather not have to do that.
I have been looking at popup stove assemblies that hindge down to the floor to close the roof but all that Ive seen would have the 2 outer links mounted outside on the cabinate frame and I dont wannt that.
I have gone thru the threads but didnt see anything that may adress my question

joecamper, not sure this will either, but I noticed a camper with a front dinette from the early 50's that had a slide out pottie under the bench seat directly to the right of the door. It slid out the side so that if the door was closed I guess the user would have their back to the door...seemed just slightly lower than the height of the bench surface. Maybe you could configure something like that coming out of the front side of the curb side bench. Don't know if I save a pic or not, if I did I'll let you know.

Not what I had in mind but very curious and unique. I would use it for an Ice chest or a wine cooler If I took the toe kick at the bottom of the kitchen cabinets( that is directly across from this toilet in the closet) Then reconstructed it on some full extension drawer slides it could become the stoop it would be 9in by 16 by 7in high perfect size. when closed only the very curious would even notice it. Not mine and still no final solution Attachments:

Here is a mock up of the toilet out and a box on the floor in front of it for your feet putting the seat height at 18 in as it should be. The toilet will be mounted to 300lb cap. full extension drawer slides. Directly across from the comode is the lower kitchen cabinate and large toe kick panel at the bottom that Im bringing into play. Closed. In the photo it is already cut loose, closed it looks like I never touched it unless you look really really close. Very simple. A shelf above it inside the cabinate still allows to put things on top and hide it. I was going to put it on drawer slides but I decided it will just slide in and out with felt attatched to the bottom and it will latch in with cabinate door latches. I am from this point forward refering to this upgrade as "The Throne" with its corrisponding "pooper stoop" Attachments:
