well I am as proud as a new father of my new license plate light, I am not saying what it cost, because I paid way to much, but it was worth it to me, I really am not concerned about staying all original in the least, but if an original part is cool to me, I am keeping it, and I really like the design of this light, and had never seen an aluminum one before First here is my old one, showing years of wear. and here is the new one, this one is aluminum, not steel and chrome, (checked it with a magnet) should last me forever. down,

Go to the hardware store and replace the lens screws with stainless steel screws and she will be as good as new.

That is beautiful. No wonder you are so tickled. Very shiny and bright and functional and pretty and red and silver. All things good in life....

ours doesnt use one like that but i would overpay for one that nice too. i get hung up on things like that too. some people might never notice but because i own it and it bugs me everytime i walk by it i think to myself, that needs to be changed.
Beautiful man, and i agree with 61shastacompact on the S/S screw thing.

I wouldn't have given this a second look a few years ago, but today when I saw it on the shelf at an RV store, I had no hesitation about buying it. Having an old trailer changes your perspective (the reddish tint is from my finger over the flash... shiny is hard to photograph).

Does that say 10.00? You can get a brand new red lense on Vintage Trailer Supply for that light.

That was the only one that I saw. And to give credit where it is due, if I hadn't been following this thread, I might have overlooked it. So, Thank You universalexports for sharing your find. If you have any older established RV stores near you, keep an eye out for what we call vintage and they call obsolete. There is still some new-old stock stuff on the shelves.
