What size Shasta wheel rim was put on at factory.I just bought 65 13 ft.Compact,It has 13"rims 5 bolt. They seem small for the weight. Can 14or 15" rims be substituted without changing out the hub and brake assembly.I see that some owners have 15"tires on their Shastas.

My 69 compact had 13". The bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2. Same as older Ford car and Ranger. I put 14" aluminum wheels on it. Depending on how your camper sits you have to be careful about going wider or you'll have trouble getting the tire and wheel up in the wheel well between the body and hub.

Thanks. Is the center axle hole the same?I don't like 13s.My old scottie had 15s and it trailed very well. What size tires do you use?Are they trailer tires or car radials?I just bought this last weekend and would like to find some 14s,,,Did you get the white spoker type aluminum rim?

I haven't needed to do anything with tires so far, but I've read in numerous places that car tires aren't good because the sidewalls are too flexible.
