I'm thinking I wound like to mount my 12v battery next to my converter under the street side dinette bench. From what I've read AGM batteries are sealed and do not omit fumes so they could be used in a confined space. Does anyone have some experience with this type of configuration.

I've done a lot of research on these, as that is my plan as well, my plan is to mount the battery in a sealed box that is vented through the floor, cause you never know. but they are not Suppose to off-gas.

Mine are outside or vented, just in case. The AGM salesman wouldn't guarantee they don't off gas.

Mine are under the dinette street side, I'm trusting the dozens of boat owners I know who use AGMs in enclosed boat cabins, that it ill be okay. I may install a vent there at some point.

That is exactly how I mounted the battery (100 AH Group 27 AGM) and converter in our 16 SCS, and I've never seen the slightest evidence of off-gassing. It's in a standard vented box, but I saw no need to vent it to outside.

It takes serious overcharging or overvoltage to make AGMs gas, so it's up to you or fate if it happens or not. But vented through the floor won't work unless there's a fan, because Hydrogen's lighter than air.

I am looking for schematic for a complete set up for the 12v, converter and the 110 under dinette seat of my 64 Airflyte. Does anyone have a great setup that they would like to share. I am getting close to that stage. Battery preferably inside. Thanks

You might check into what type of charger you need for an AGM battery. Most AGM's don't charge like a regular battery. They won't fully charge with a regular charger, but they are very dependable otherwise...oh and quite expensive...be prepared.

I have pictures of the systems in every trailer. PM me if you'd like me to email them... Hopefully, proboards will get this photo mess fixed...

what kind of battery is better for camping? I am looking at an AGM adventure power marine battery 30 series 205 hr battery, do i want a deep cycle or marine battery. I would like the battery to pull double duty (if needed) by taking it out of the camper and hooking it up to my solar array if the zombie apocalypse starts.

I've had an AGM in mine since the rebuild, it's under my sink. I purchased one of those "smart" chargers from VTS to keep it happy. It will run my Fantastic fan all night, on low. Even better when the charger is feeding it. It's a Mercedes battery, I ended up with it after it failed a test in a car. It tests bad, and still does with an electronic tester, and it's dated 2006. I'll be after another one if this one ever quits.

I went around and around on the "Inside or Outside" thing on my 12v system. And for starts I set it up outside and have the Charger/Inverter, Dc/Ac converter and the fuse panel set up in the water tank well of the Loflyte. From my read and research the multi-stage wizard with the Intel system is the best thing going and a must for deep cycles. And as I continued reading, I am left to believe that the AGM's my not justify the cost.. Life is abit longer in most cases, but not that much. I am using DP31 Marine battery While it's not a "true deep" cell, so far the 125 AMP hrs have been giving me plenty of camping juice for a three night weekend. I have some schematics on a prepetual magnet generating sysytem that I plan on working on in the future. It's just a trickle of 2 amp but it's really a neat operating system. It operates on it’s own power/momentum and generates 2 extra amps..”Storage”
