Mine are maked "Ford S". There are no referance numbers on them like todays seals. Anyways, I left mine at my local NAPA to see if they can find something to cross referance it to. Have any of you replaced yours? Whats the number on the seal?

If you don't get the reference numbers you can measure the bore and the shaft and the depth. If NAPA tries to go by the worn out seal they may get the shaft diameter wrong due to the wear. You can get chicago rawhide or national seals at any bearing supply store and they are much better suited to getting you the right item. Good luck to you....Alan

When I had my bearings repacked before making the maiden voyage home from Wisconsin, the trailer place I took it to gave me a part number for the inner seal because they didn't have them in stock. I will try and track it down. At least you could use it as a double check, since I have never ordered them or installed them to make sure the number is correct. Mine were actually okay, even the bearings were okay, but the cost was in the labor, so I had them replace the bearings anyway.

I agree with wayward, find a bearing supplier.

Chicago Rawhide make a seal that is very close to the seal removed from my brake drum. I ordered four seals at the cost of $14.20 ea, plus I will have to pay for some shipping to. The new seal is .50 think as where the old seal is .392. Ya a little thicker but it will fit. I'll post up the number as soon as I know it will work so that I don't mislead someone else.
