Hey everyone, I'm new to the Shasta community. Bought a 66' Shasta compact from a member on here over the spring. Looking for a door in decent shape to replace the existing one. Pretty rough by appearance. Does anyone have a door that would work? The manufacturers must have used the same doors for a few model years right?...the rest is in pretty good shape, a door just tends to get beat on I guess. Would rather not have to build a door from scratch. -Jack-

Jack, is the aluminum in bad shape or the inner door framing that's bad? The door comes apart pretty easy where you can rebuild the framing. My door skin was good but bottom of door framing rotten so I built new framing out of poplar and glued and screwed together. Much stronger than original.

I must say that reframing the door was one of the easiest parts we have yet encountered in our restorations. Not something you should be afraid of at all. I know that I have said this many times and I am not sure where you are located as far as shipping goes, but you might check fletcher's vintage trailers if you find you are in need of parts. VTS is good too but Fletcher's is the closest thing I have come to that is sort of like an old trailer salvage yard. Best of luck and have fun....Janet

Jack, go to the Shasta Marketplace tab on the forum and look under Shasta parts. Someone has a 68 that they are parting out and show a door if it's still available. I know different aluminum patterns were used over the years but you could check it out. Brent
