Thanks to all who viewed and responded to my post under the Introductions section. If anyone would like to follow this project, the link is: tinyurl.com/69compactIt looks like this is pretty much going to be a complete rebuild, and of course, plenty of modifications. Too bad it's too darned cold to work on her right now!

Looks like you have a great project on your hands. Sounds like fun, you and your grandson working on the camper and then off on the open road. I will be following your progress. Red Dirt PS I also have a wife named Cheryl who knew what I wanted in a camper before I knew.

Following with interest ... waiting for the weather to warm up enough to actually get some work done

Thanks Red Dirt and effierover. I have been reading your blog on windows, Red Dirt. Your info will be of great help as I remove and redo them. Unfortunately, most of them are jalousies, but your examples will help immensely. We have already removed a few. No trouble getting them out - they darned near fell out when Max and I removed the screws!

nice start to a great trailer, I have a 70 compact that was in about the same shape. I did a total interior restoration without taking off the skin. What a job, but worth it. I have some pics on this site of the work. let me know if you have any questions I might be able to help you with. Bud

Thanks Bud. I will certainly ask for help as I need it. I'll try to find your photos on this site. I'd love to do a complete interior restoration without removing the skin, but I'm not sure that will work with this trailer. When I took the curbside dinette seat out, the entire camper body was loose from the frame! It shifted enough I could see the ground. I had to put a couple of "T" supports inside to hold the shell up before I removed anything else. I'm thinking that I will need to at least lift the skin up off the bottom to figure out what to do to re-fasten it to the frame....Bob
