ok, I bought an oscillating multi toolk from harbor freight and put on the scraping tool and got up on the roof with some paint stripper. while I was up theres trying to clean the gunk up I found out why my roof was leaking so bad , a previous owner had installed something in the roof and there were holes all around the vent opening about 6 inches out. Alot of these holes wer covered with some silver black gunk. I got as much of it off as I could and stuck a ton of eternabond tape on it. Then I went inside and ran a seam of eternabond on the underside of the skin where the paneling was already taken off. This stuff is great! I had to order it from online but it worked like a charm even if it looks kinda hacked together. I turned the hose on the roof for 15 minutes and no water seepage. Now we'll see how long this lasts. next step is to get the rest of the black stuff thats flaking off taken care of then putting a coat of kool seal on it. I didnt think Id ever figure out where all the holes were!
