My '72 Compact did not have an awning rail on it when we acquired it in December, but I want an awning! When we install the awning rail is it installed just below the J-channel/drip rail? Or does it replace the J-channel/drip rail?
My husband is concerned that installing it below the J-channel isn't feasible because there won't be enough wood for it to be screwed into.
Thanks!!
Sitting at 9 degrees and a foot of snow and READY for spring!

It goes in the j-channel/drip rail. You remove it after use and store in your trailer or rig. It isn't attached permanently.

The awning rail replaces the J-rail in the section needed/desired. Usually 8' foot or so for a Compact. Looks like this: Jim
