May 20 – 22, 2011 Raccoon Holler Campground in Glendale Springs, NCWe will be camping under a canopy of pine trees, in the heart of Christmas Tree country at Raccoon Holler Campground in Glendale Springs, NC. www.raccoonholler.comCampground site fees will be the same as last year, $25.00 per night. So make your reservations and we will see everyone in the Spring! Make sure to mention that you are with the teardrop people. So far, we have 15 trailers registered....most are teardrop campers and a few vintage trailers....Scotty's, Shasta's, etc. We would really enjoy seeing other vintage Shasta's. Raccoon Holler Campground is right off the Blue Ridge Parkway, in beautiful Ashe County, NC. There is a lot to see. The Church of the Frescoes, hiking, canoeing, fishing at the campground lake and in the New River and Ashe County Cheese, North Carolina's only cheese factory,as well as, local wineries. There will be a potluck dinner that Saturday night. More info as time draws closer. Hope to see everyone 'round tha campfire again. Ross

Carla and I were thinking of a Tie Dye weekend, as a remembrance of one of our beloved family members, Clyde Davis. Clyde always attend the Spring Fling gatherings and could always be found wearing a tie dye shirt and doing a little pickin'. It was kind of his thing. At the Saturday Night dinner, a few of our talented ones will be Pickin' and Grinin', as always and as a tribute to Clyde, if we could all wear a tie dye shirt. It would be fitting.
As for the Saturday Night Pot Luck....We will have our Two LARGE 2' x 5' grills for everyone to cook their own GRILLIN' EATS for themselves ( steak, shrimp, ribs, vegetables or whatever you are craving for ) and bring a SIDE DISH to share ( enough to feed your crew and 2 more people) . This Communal Grill idea has worked great for the past 5 years. This is a good way to bring everyone together. Good Food and Good Friends....what more do ya need!!
We will have the grill hot and ready to start cooking on by 6:00pm, this way everyone should be able to eat around 6:30.
Hope to see a Sea Of Colors, Ross and Carla

We had a BLAST. I believe that we had around 35 trailers, all together. A BIG THANK YOU goes out to our Social Director: Melanie, Welcoming Committee: Peggy and Official Photographer: David
Thank you's go out to Bob, Stan, John T and others for the music, Susan and Shelia for Tee Shirts, Woody for the Friday Night Comedy Show, Peggy and Melanie for the Saturday Night Entertainment and Jimmy and Ellen for the Ninja Masters Mixes.
We had several vintage trailers join us this year and lots of NEW friends. This was the BIGGEST Holler gathering, ever and I think that everyone had a great time. It did my heart proud to all of the Tie Dye Shirts on Saturday. I know that Clyde was with us all for the entire weekend. The weather couldn't have been more perfect!
We put a lot of time and energy into these gatherings, as all Directors do and it is well worth it to see everyone have a good time. Hope to see all of you again next year!
Ross and Carla

Not this year, Kim. We are co hosting the Tearjerkers Birthday Party 2012 in Charleston, SC this year. We have 26 trailers attending. It should make for a great time.
We will host our Spring Fling next year, just not sure if we will keep it at Raccoon Holler campground in Glendale Springs, NC or move it to another campground and city all together.
Any suggestions?

Bear Den campground, in Spruce Pine, just off the Parkway. Plenty of shade trees, a lake for swimming, old, but clean bathrooms, electric and water at most sites. Until I can get my 'new baby' completely redone, I will be camping as close to home as I can.

It is a beautiful campground. We drove through it one year when we were down visiting with my Mom in Asheville.
